Big test for the defense right from the start. They could break Ryan's will before the season even starts, or give him the confidence to... Likewise for Cousins.

Dirt Cheap Sherels replacement for returns is out there and available Vikings. I think his name is Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi. Sounds like he is a Vince Papale type of person but with Devin Hester type return legs. Vikings could use a good story to add to the team. I hear Browns cut him.

Both teams looked bad, but that Bears defensive line scares the crap out of me.

Well that was an impressive start to the first game on both ends. Let's see if they can sustain that for a full game.

Interesting to see Barr allowed to rush the QB on first play. If Zimmer had never taken him off of that over the past few seasons he could have been more effective all this time, instead of dropping into coverage so much. Maybe they learned that lesson?

Was strange to see Vikings allowed to hit the punter, and they hit him hard, without a penalty. Nobody said anything. Did they remove that rule this year?

Good to have Harris back. He was looking so promising before last season. Now already snatches a pick.

They better roll Harris onto Julio if Xavier is out for the rest of this one. Alexander can't hang with Julio. Hopefully Rhodes can walk it off but he didn't look happy.

I'm impressed with how they came to play today. It might already be a route if not for a few offsides penalties, jumping the gun. We'll see if they can bring the same intensity to away games this year.

Time to sit on the 14 point lead. Haven't seen Cook for two drives. Somehow even Abdullah is getting plays. Team still doesn't know how to keep the foot on the pedal. Hope they can string it out, but I'm off to do better things than watch Zimmer sitting on it.

o-line did good for run blocking, i think left a little to be desired in pass protection but they barely needed to do it at all

great game, too many penalties (and dumb penalties) but big to win at home to start

You can hit the punter if you block the punt. If you miss the ball and hit the punter, it’s roughing.

Wow I never knew that. Kind of strange reasoning. I had always thought it was to defend a defenseless player who has one legg up and one plant foot, and was why most attempting to block were just getting their hands up infront of the ball. Would be pretty easy to snap his leg in half if they landed into the plant leg. Wonder how they explain it as roughing anyone at all if it's fine when they block it?

Watching a little of this Patriots/Steelers game and can't believe how stubborn Tomlin is. For years now the Vikings have been rotating runningbacks in all the time, giving plays to nobodies. We saw it after just a 14 pt lead today in Vikes game, Abdulah was already playing, the 4th string back. Maybe long before that even, as I think Mattison had a double digit run on the second TD drive. Much of the time it annoys me how much they are trying to be tricky and sending out a nobody to get the play. But the one thing I admit it does do is keep the defenders on their toes a little.

In tonights game, Patriots are rotating the depth in constantly with plays meant for that depth on both RBs and WRs.
Meanwhile, you have Tomlin and the Steelers using Conner for 4 downs for the first 3.5 quarters with the most stubborn, inflexible display I've seen in a long while. At half time, they asked Tomlin how he would adjust and he said they wouldn't change anything. Why is this guy still coaching the Steelers? Really used to like Tomlin after seeing his time with Vikings and early on with Steelers, but he's kind of a joke these days.
