More Barnes stuff? Pop knows more than you. Probably cause Barnes has the height/muscle and solid SF/PF presence unlike others on the team.

Barnes has been one of the most solid USA contributors

I didn’t appreciate the Australian announcer talking crap, Giannis ain’t stopped by anyone

Btw Barnes performance was pretty solid against Greece, cant be said of guys like Plumlee and Harris, dont really understand the critique, that contract is not yet running :D

But then Friends who did see thé game told that "ok he is right for Gobert's goaltending, but hé can't be so angry against refs for the whole game, actually he can thanks them for 29 FTs"

And they also told me about Albicy's flopping ...

So, who Saw the whole game ? Did my Friends were objectives?

(I will see the whole game tomorrow)

I was flipping back and forth between the games...but I know for sure that the possession that JVal got the FT's was only a possession because of a really bad loose ball foul call on Fournier. It seemed like whenever I flipped over to this game someone was shooting FT's.

Refs were questionable for both teams. I think coach was mad with lack of consistency there, was very hard to read reffing in this one.

Giannis was the main reason for Greece's loss today?!

In a game against the United States where he was 7/11 for 15-13, and Sloukas was 5/12, Printezis was 2/10, Papapetrou was 3/11, Calathes was 2/6, Bourousis was 1/5 and Papanikolaou was 0/3?

Please cut the pretense that your opinions on Giannis don't come a place of disdain. You are not fooling anyone.

USA played good defense today. Giannis was about the only player on Greece who drew defenders and created space for this teammates. He carried them in the beginning. Greece as a whole scored only 8 points in the 2nd quarter. They knew they were done by that point.

Goaltending/basket interference rule differences

(FIBA)No blocking a ball in downward flight towards the rim.
Once the ball strikes the rim, any player can play the ball (i.e. swat it away or tap it in)

(NBA)No blocking a ball in downward flight towards the rim.
An imaginary cylinder exists that has the basket as its base. Touching the ball while any part of it is in this cylinder (and still has a chance to go in) is a violation

(NCAA)No blocking a ball in downward flight towards the rim.
An imaginary cylinder exists that has the basket as its base. Touching the ball while any part of it is in this cylinder (and still has a chance to go in) is a violation.

Yep. I was surprised they got the separation. The Greece team didn't have it except for Antetokounmpo. They were rolled.

No it isn't. Even in FIBA rules you can't grab the rim, which is what gobert did and why it should have been a violation.

he didn't grab the rim, he played at the ball and made simultaneous contact grazing the rim, so this confirms the sore losing

the spirit of the law is when players touch only the basket or backboard to shake the ball off

2 I think.

Yes, 2.

FIBA is only 1 point, however on the last FT it is also a technical foul.

31.3.2 If the violation is committed by a defensive player, the offensive team is awarded:
• 1 point, if the ball was released for a free throw.
• 2 points, if the ball was released from the 2-point field goal area.
• 3 points, if the ball was released from the 3-point field goal area.
The awarding of the points is considered as if the ball had entered the basket.
31.3.3 If the goaltending is committed by a defensive player during a last free throw, 1 point shall be awarded to the offensive team, followed by a technical foul penalty charged on the defensive player.
