Best guess, at some point in the season, Herro will be playing north of 20 minutes a game.

For perspective, Tyler Johnson averaged about 19 minutes per game in his first season with Mia and he's no White Drip.

He only played 32 games in that season and probably mostly played in place of injured players. How many DNPs did Ellington have last season for us? Waiters and Dragic missed lots of games last season and we still struggled to find minutes for Ellington.

Probably will not see him early a lot.

Twitter rumor that CP3 to Mia is gaining steam once again.

Wouldn't be surprised the Heat traded for Paul at the end of preseason

It's been said that Mia has delayed Jimmy's intro presser intentionally so they could have a bigger presser involving a second star.

There's a sense that they really want to get something done soon.

If they go after Paul they need to do it for this season. Put Paul on the Wade health management plan.

Dion looks like he is on a mission, I am looking forward to seeing what he'll bring to the table fully healthy.

I have little expectations from JJ, but he is working hard as well and looks to be in Heat shape. Hopefully he can provide much more than the past 2 seasons.

Winslow, DJJ and Bam are the biggest X factors here. If they make the expected jump that their talents suggest, this team could open some eyes.

This is going to be an interesting season. No doubt about it. I predict Goran and other players will get traded in February right before the trade deadline. I wonder how good or bad we'll be by then.

It's hard to find minutes for 4 guards let alone 5. Maybe if DJJr is out of the rotation, Herro will get more minutes.

DJJ is a forward. We have players that can play multiple positions. Dion can play 1, 2 and 3. Butler 2 and 3. Winslow 1,2,3 and 4. I am sure Spo will find a way to play the kid. He has too much talent and potential to keep him hostage on the bench.

Butler can play 1-4, he played PG in the playoffs while Ben Simmons was sent to the dunker's spot and his strength and ability to knock the ball away allows him to play defense in the low post against bigger players.

Jimmy Butler has a reputation of being a difficult person to work with, but he’s made a name for himself these playoffs as a clutch performer. Leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 2-1 series lead over the Toronto Raptors, Butler has been most dominant playing point guard.

My assumption;

PG: Dragic - Nunn
SG: Butler - Waiters - Herro
SF: Winslow - Jones Jr - Robinson

That is a lot of players for Herro to fit minutes in.

What Spo did in the past is rotated DNPs instead of trying to play everyone in one game.

Just now:

Read on Twitter

Earlier:

Read on Twitter

Kinda flip flopped in the posts between these posts.

.............

Note: I'm well aware that platforming random twitter "sources" is a bit of a provocative thing to do on these boards. I'm in a whatever kind of mood at the moment so there you have it.

He's also been teasing some Beal rumors today.

That might be it Twix, we never know with Spo. His rotations are unpredictable most of the times. What makes the most sense to me as a fan is:

PG Winslow, Dragic, Nunn
SG Waiters, Herro
SF Butler, Jones Jr, Okpala

But starting Dragic for the first half of the season might be the plan to boost his trade value. Who knows what Spo will end up doing

Peltons projected minutes based on the last three seasons if i remember correctly. I have Butler and Johnson with slightly lower minutes and Bam/Winslow with higher. If Herro isn't rookie Malik Monk kind of bad all season there's definitely room over 82 games to get some experience on this squad imo.

    Jimmy Butler 2550
    Bam Adebayo 2184
    Goran Dragic 2016
    Justise Winslow 1920
    James Johnson 1900

    Derrick Jones 1872
    Tyler Herro 1560
    Dion Waiters 1512
    Meyers Leonard 1170
    KZ Okpala 578
    Duncan Robinson 390
    Udonis Haslem 156

Not early but i think Nunn may get some important minutes as an athletic defender

If that happens I'd be very impressed with the coaching/development staff. I didn't think much of his defense in summer league, but they've done miracles before on that end ofc. The squad could use another guard with some ability to get around screens. Hopefully he has the mentality to stick around. His jumper definitely has a place on this roster.

A healthy Waiters isn't playing less minutes than a rookie in Herro unless Herro outplays Waiters during pre-season or the regular season.

Return to Miami Heat
