After all, Frank comes to the Knicks via France, and French people like to talk about Philosophy, so maybe the philosophical and psychological underpinnings of Frank fandom and hatred, and even ambivalence, need to be explored for many pages.
Some fans seem to enjoy Franks willingness to embrace the team game, sublimating his game for the greater good of the team. They seem to feel that when teams "play together as one" and embrace the "dirty work" of defense, that this leads to success of all.
I think we can clearly sniff out the unsavory underpinnings of this kind of thought. Socialism. Weak minded takers promote this false philosophy of unity, so they can rob alpha takers of their rightful due. This is unacceptable in basketball fandom as it is in real life.
The Knicks don't need such players! Americans, with their rugged individualism, don't need to be infected by this limp wristed euro-socialism! Say "No more!" to victimization promoting basketball. It's time the Knicks "Go Gault!" and "Keep what they kill!". The Knicks need triumph, a triumph of the will.
