Akhello should take a huge leap this year. Kwon should know Jameis' tendencies. I'm worried about our safeties but this game should be a rout.
27 - 14 49ers win
I'm guessing most you fans slept. Not surprised
I drafted our defense and got 41 fantasy points today lol
Have them in my league and I'm exposed to them on in some lineups on Draftkings, Yahoo, and FantasyDraft. #winning

I am shocked how good Spoon looked today. Would be huge for this defense if he improves

Coleman in a boot, can we cut Beathard now so we can pick up a RB?

Re: GDT: Week 1- 49ers @ Bucs
It was definitely ugly in spots but at least they won and it's encouraging to see them pull out a game they probably would've lost the past few years.
Week 1 is full of overreactions good and bad but I think I came away with more positive than negative going forward.
Jimmy G is was solid but he's seems to be good for one Romo a game and I really hope that he gets that ironed out with more reps. He missed some passes he should've hit but it all seemed like things that will be ironed out with time and reps.
Offensive line needs to play better but it was hard to tell if they were just completely getting dominated physically or if they weren't executing correcting. Because their was a stretch where Breida was getting some nice chunk yardage play after play but most of the time the running game just wasn't their.
Defensively is was great to see a consistent pass rush and even more so to see it payoff with turnovers and making the QB struggle. Both Ford and Bosa were impactful so at least both of those investments seem sound so far. It was a relief to also see the secondary hold up when the pass rush was stone walled and quite a few times Winston didn't have anywhere to go with the ball.
I'd say my only real concern with the D is the run defense up the middle. Seemed like Ronald Jones was just getting 5+ yard every time up the gut.
Penalties have to be cleaned up as those cost us 3 TDs and you're not going to beat very many teams if you have points coming off the board like that. To be fair I thought the referee crew was a bit flag happy in general but still can't have that many penalties especially the easily avoidable ones.
And speaking of the referee crew that whole situation with Kwon should not have been an ejection. The penalty is fine but Winston was going down in a half hearted slide and I didn't see Kwon really try to intentionally hit him with his helmet and it looked like he was trying to get his shoulder in their. Plays like that should just result in a warning and you shouldn't just get ejected right off the bat unless you went high and launched yourself into a guys head.
Overall they better get they better get things cleaned up by next week because the Bengals looked better than I thought they were going to be and it's not looking like an easy win.

I thought Alexander should have been flagged but the ejection was overkill. Jimmy G missed some basic throws but hopefully with more reps it will get better. I thought the oline pass blocked pretty well but struggled against the run which is weird because the olinmen on this team have been better run blockers than pass blockers. I was most annoyed at Shanahan's calls to run it up the gut on third down that got stuffed. The 49ers olinmen are oustide run blocking athletic types. Richburg is not a big guy. They are not going to blow people off the line, especially Suh and their nose tackle

I don't think it was Shanahan's strongest called game but to be fair there was 3 TDs that were taken off the board due to somewhat questionable penalties.
The up the gut 3rd and short call was the one that annoyed me the most. This offensive line is not built for those kinds of runs when the defense is selling out to stop it.

I listened to Brent Jones on KNBR on the way home last night. He had some interesting takes on things. He believes part of Jimmy G's inaccuracy is due to rust. He partially blames the lack of reps to the lack of play in preseason and stated that you just can't emulate game conditions in practice. While he admitted that he is not an expert in mechanics, he thinks Jimmy G might still be favoring a leg when he steps and throws which could be affecting his throws. He expects him to take a couple of games to iron things out but would be concerned if it is still happening after week 7.

That's pretty much my takeaway as well in that it will get better over the course of the season.
I recall reading not too long ago that Brady had the same issues that Jimmy G is having right now in coming back from his ACL injury so that gives me hope that it'll work itself out.
Also the guy hasn't even started a full season of games so there is going to be some bumps along the way regardless.

That should be any sane person's take
