Its beyond moronic, they killed people. They ended lives, wrecked victims families lives. All the sympathies should go there.

Also, when the story broke, its a natural question one has. How does Kawhi with millions and millions of dollars who just signed for millions upon millions more have a sister who killed an old lady for a few hundred dollars? Your kid does something like that, your sibling does something like that, famous or not, there will be questions asked. There are probably reasonable answers, but questions can be asked to close relations.

those are def questions that need to be asked, how can someone so affluent like the Clippers kawhi leonard have a sister thats in such despair she commits a capital murder for few hundred dollars to a innocent elderly woman at a Major southern california gambling institution? why did she not talk to him or other family members if she was in need?, did he and her have a argument recently? did they have a huge falling out internally? these questions are definitely raised. will this effect kawhi's mental stability going forward. all prudent questions that are raised when something of this magnitude happens

If you've never had a family member killed, you have no idea how that affects everybody for the rest of their life.

What?? No they didn’t. Their siblings did. You can have sympathy for them too.

Kawhi’s not responsible for his sister. We don’t know what their relationship is like (I’m assuming they don’t have one).

Or it makes you wonder what’s happening in those families that one sibling ends up so successful and the other is a vicious murderer. Something went really wrong in both situations, cause it really shouldn’t be that way. This is why these stories create public interest and how these suspects having famous siblings is newsworthy even if it seems exploitive to mention their names in headlines.

Myth wrote that Biles and Leonard has his sympathies for having moronic siblings. I wrote their siblings are way past moronic. Someone used the adjective "vile." That fits the description more. The shattered lives left by their sibilings actions get my symphathies. I care much much less that Biles and Leonard has to answer a few questions... answer those assumptions.

Biles and her brother grew up in different households. Biles was adopted by her grandparents if I remember correctly.

No, he wrote that he has sympathies for them because they are being dragged into the mess of these horrible crimes committed by their siblings that they had nothing to do with. Perfectly reasonable to feel sympathetic for them too. It's a bad situation for everyone associated.

For me, that's weird. 9 people dead in a church shooting, I am not going to spend energy thinking about what Roof's parents and family are going through. I am not thinking bad situation for everyone involved. I am thinking tragic situation for the famillies and friends of the 9 victims.

They bleed and defecate just like the rest of us, they’re not special and I don’t care what they’re doing unless I choose to view them performing in their specific field

I despise that they get given free things when they of all people can afford it, but I also don’t feel it’s fair to constantly harass them with cameras and include their names in news reports when/if someone related to them commits a crime just to get extra clicks, it’s not ethical

People will say “they chose that life”, my response is that I have an issue with just accepting that we need to operate under these conditions because it’s become ‘normal’ to make these people more important than what they actually are

Let them play their sport, sing, act, entertain or whatever it is they do and then go about having a normal life.

We don’t need to place them on a pedestal or tear them down. We certainly don’t need to know what they wore, who they’re dating, where they went on holidays or what crime a family member committed, the whole thing is ridiculous

Whether celebrities should reap the benefits of being adored by fans that make them rich and famous but not the pain of invasion of their privacy and that of their family by those fans, has been debated on seemingly forever. We know where you stand but doesn't mean those with a different opinion is wrong or missing your point.

In this case, 2 women have been charged with murder. One is being held on $1 million bail while the other is being held without bail. Why was one not granted bail? According to the County Sheriff it's because: "she has family that are well off and could post her bail."

Who could that "well off" family member be? He may not have done anything wrong and he may not be able to post bail, but he can still hire the best lawyer from a top law firm to help sis. He can still help a lot and he should be mentioned. That's just the way it is.

Yet you have also missed my point....I am not making excuses for the people involved, for the last time I'm simply stating the general public does not need to know she's his sister. We don't need to know that one was granted bail and the other wasn't, this is irrelevant information to us.

Whether the media reports it or not the public is going to find out. So why bother being priggish about it?

I think you're missing his point. You assertion is that knowing that the accused is related to Kawhi doesn't provide any useful information to the public. But when you think about it, the whole story itself doesn't provide any useful information to the public. The purpose of the article is for entertainment purposes (yes, most news is just entertainment under the guise of keeping people 'informed'). Considering that crime articles are generally just a morbid form of reading entertainment, adding a family relation link to a famous person just makes the article more intriguing to readers. The information may be irrelevant, but it's not without purpose. And the fact that it's irrelevant information doesn't matter in this context since the whole article is irrelevant to the lives of regular people not involved in this case.

Agreed. The people most deserving of sympathy in these situations are the victims and their families. There’s a family of people devastated cause their 84 year old mother/grandmother got beaten to death by two women trying to rob her for money - but everyone feeling worse for millionaire Kawhi cause he has to deal w/ some bad press and unwarranted shame over his family situation.

I wasn't aware that my comment was so controversial. Just to clarify, I do have sympathy for the victims and their families. Being that I have no knowledge of any of them, but I do have knowledge of their celebrity siblings, my mind thought of them first. Kind of hard not to when both Kawhi and Simone are the only names attached to the headlines. Clearly, there are more people who are impacted to a greater degree and I wish such terrible tragedies were not bestowed onto them. Just because I did not articulate it, does not make me unsympathetic to their pain. I do, however, believe Kawhi and Simone also are worthy of sympathy and compassion, because choices of family members do have an effect on the family. Similarly, I referred to their actions as moronic. Vile and other words certainly seem to fit, though I also don't claim to have much knowledge of what had occurred and don't know what life choices led to these horrific acts, but I do believe moronic choices are part of it. So again, just because I chose to articulate my belief that it was moronic, I do not believe that is the only description that fits their decisions/character.

Nobody said they should 'feel worse' so drop the strawman. They just said there were other people deserving of sympathy as well, which is true. But you're post reaks of petty jealousy. Yeah, Kawhi's a millionaire. (Is Simone a millionaire?) but that doesn't mean bad things can't and don't happen to him and we can't have basic human sympathy for someone. If you have a sibling, try to imagine what it would be like if they murdered people. How people would treat you and your parents and talk about them behind your back. I'd wager to say that would be a pretty devastating development and normal, non sociopathic people would be able to feel sympathy for you.
