Russillo going full time to The Ringer. Love that move.

Didn’t realize Ros Gold Onwude was let go from TNT. She’d make a great Katie George replacement.

Wow, didn’t know that. That would be cool but she’s too good to go from TNT to the Bucks.

It is a new media world. Simmons and Russillo doing podcasts can arguably be more influential (and make more money) than if they were SportsCenter anchors or doing a syndicated ESPN radio show.
Glad it worked out. Think those two really mesh well together.

Lowe going to the athletic would be terrible. If he leaves espn I hope it’s to the ringer.

There's Stanford family here though with Brook, Robin & Mariah (Giannis').
Who wouldn't want to cover Giannis all season?

Lowe to the Ringer would pretty much monopolize their NBA coverage. Pelton is pretty good, but KOC and Lowe are the best in the biz IMO.

In that story, the Athletic said they have 600,000 subscriptions, but curious if that's 600,000 paid subscriptions or not. If you go with an average fee of $40 (my guesstimate based on all the discounts they offer) that would produce $24 million in revenue.
That revenue base doesn't support all the different writers they have out there, and wouldn't support a big offer to Lowe.
Curious what the pay differential is between ESPN and his Athletic offer. Despite ESPN faltering here, I'd think their brand and paycheck will be a lot more reliable for Lowe in the long run. But that's probably why the $ offer ESPN is making isn't to his liking evidently.

We're gonna lose the whole "Roller Girl" vibe that we had with Katie (and Katie knew she had it as well).
But the replacement (Zora) seems like a great hire, based on that clip.

I think Steve Novak will remain corny.

Re: Media Thread
A lot of Bucks talk kicks off the most recent Hoop Collective east preview pod with Windhorst. Gotta say, felt bad for Malika Andrews. She just can’t hang with Windy or Jackie Mac conversationally. Uses like 85% more words than necessary to make a simple point, provides incorrect information. Reminded me of Miss South Carolina from like 15 years ago “Everyone like, such as...” At one point she said “And even also and or what Bledsoe got set the price for Malcolm.” Umm, what? Also reminded listeners that “the Bucks brought Connaughton back.” Just a really rough listen from her. Great stuff from Jackie Mac though, as always.
