I really don’t understand how it’d be an upset if we lost to France today, at least not with our current national team. This France side is good, really good with lots of talent. At this stage of the tournament, every game can go either way. With this roster, we simply aren’t these overwhelming favorites anymore.

France best player is a elite defensive center like Gobert, and their other best players are people like de colo, fournier, washed batum, poirier etc come on. This france team can't compete with france's best teams with parker, let alone with usa. If usa had a better backup C they should be able to beat france using their bench.

Holy **** dude!! Did you even watch the game!? Small ball lineup of Mitchell/Smart/Middleton/Barnes/Brown basically helped make the whole 17 point swing. Gobert was destroying USA when they played normal ball with Turner at center.

Yeah Kemba playing iso hero ball in 4th ruined the game for USA. Mitchell was destroying France in third, Brown, Smart was playing well. He came in when they led with 7 points and he never passed again...

Barnes was awful also. His travel and black hole offense is real bad in FIBA. If you are going to play Kemba you need a pick and roll partner, that's all Kemba does. HE ran the most in the league. Barnes isn't a pick and roll partner, he's an ISO chucker.

Yeah I didn't get why Barnes, Harris played all the time. That travel, post play was horrible.

I feel bad for Mitchell, Brown, Smart they were winning and lost the game on the bench. France is very flawed, they have no offense outside Fournier, Gobert defense. Bad US offence should have won. I see why Australia beat France.

Australia or Spain will win this. You cant beat those smart teams becasue they will not play dumb iso and bail out France.

I only saw the last eight minutes of the game, but for all those on Real GM contending that Rudy Gobert is overrated, he sure didn't look like it here. Gobert was a dominant force. On the other hand, the USA roster was not constructed to contend with Gobert.

Yup, it was cake once they went back to their PnR. Trying to post Gobert up stagnated the offense and took them out of their flow.

I'm not sure how much it hurt them though. Gobert put Myles Turner in the dumpster. He was just the best player on the floor and USA didn't have a real answer.
