Give frank his credit he showed today and play great today no argument from me. The only other thing i will say Frank has to this more often and show up more offense side of ball then once every 8 games, he has to do it for a good stretch of games not just once while.

You think Mills is actually going to say "wow, Frank looks good now, but he's a Phil guy GOTTA TRADE HIM NOW!!" That's crazy. The real issue is finding minutes for him on a team with actual depth. Good thing is he's under team control for at least two seasons and again, is only 21. Crazy to think he's still a baby when it feels like he's been on the team for years.
There are a lot of signs that he is not in their plans based on how they used him last year, how Fiz likes to play, based on the players they brought in and the trade rumors in the offseason.
That could change, but it does seem like he is/was the odd man out and all it will take is the right offer.
And he was pretty terrible last season. If he's really improved that much, why wouldn't they give him a chance? That's all I'm saying. Sure, they signed Payton, but this idea that he's promised minutes is silly. If Frank beats him out for minutes, what's Payton gonna do? Nothing. Last year is last year. I also don't buy anything to do with trade rumors, so as far as I am concerned, if he has improved, go out and earn the minutes. It's not like he didn't play last season when he was healthy and terrible.
To be fair most of the team was terrible last season. We won 17 games. Some players def had longer leashes then others.
It could all still work out and I hope it does. It just doesn't seem like they were high on Frank. Again, it could all change and hopefully Frank gets a chance.

Playing Jack and Mudiay over him, only to let them walk for retirement or small money, isn't a conspiracy theory.
He's not in the cards unless he goes nuclear and then Steve Compete Mills is forced to play him.
To be real here frank had his chance to start early and if you can't get starting job from jack, session, mudiay, and burke then you don't deserve to start that competition in front frank wasn't that hard.

I'll never get to see him and DSJ together, will I?
Seth Curry would be a better fit (purely fictional). Frank would be ridiculous next to Harden, would be insane on the Clippers, would also be good on the Spurs as starting PG next to DeRozan, could start next to Trae Young, the Warriors could fit him in. Orlando should like the fit next to Fournier. Let's not overreact, but Dennis Smith doesn't seem like such a great fit due to his own deficiencies (shooting and needs a lot of space to be effective) and tendency to maneuver into bad situations late in the clock.

It's true, but Frank needs to be paired with a scorer. We didn't have any but Burke, who eventually took Frank's position. Let's be honest: You couldn't have played Frank more last year, he wasn't ready. He really wasn't. He rarely looks ready offensively in this tournament.

I am not going to get my hopes up too high for frank to say he is ready offensively this year , we will just have to wait and see approach . i had expectation last year for frank to average 10 points and 5 assist and he didn't do that why i am just not going to set any expectation for him this year.

Re: The Next Official All things Frank Ntilikina Thread
If they're smart, the NYK staff absolutely should use Frank the same way he's used when he plays with De Colo which is either him or Nando who runs the ball first. With a ball handler like DSJ, this duo can be very complementary, both of them like each other and they wanna support each other playing good and make sacrifices for the team.
The thing with Frank is he makes his teamates better because he's willing to make them better, and its kinda weird when you play in the NBA to be like that, but Batum, Diaw, Noah, Pietrus, Turiaf, Mahinmi and Fournier are great exemples for him to remain who you are and devellop his all around game always based on DEFENSE !!!

Frenchie Frank stepping up big.
Really hope our FO can start pairing him with DSJ, Trier, and RJ. Like many others have said he compliments so many players well. Just having him + mitch on the court together will be big for the defense, pair Morris at the 3, randle at the 4 and then either DSJ or RJ next to Frank would be a fun and balanced rotation

i actually thought the opposite , that he had accountability but was allowed to work himself in and out of the rotation based on his play .
that if they didn't want him they'd simply let him rot once he fell out the rotation or...
if they wanted him for trade bait they'd let him play no matter what and do everything possible to build him up.
but unlike knox he had a bunch of young guys at guard who all had accountability (except for mudiay) and would get pulled for other players for bad play or not playing the way Fizdale directed them to .
i believe he is the clear choice to start alongside barrett based of fit.
I just don't have that much faith in Fiz. I know we were bad last year and would have been no matter what. But I dont like the style we played and his choices of rotations/lineups. I dont know if he will be good for RJ.
But I will give him some time this season to see if he can figure it out

Re: The Next Official All things Frank Ntilikina Thread
The fact this front office has cluttered our roster to the point our 21 developmental lottery pick has no easy path to play and improve makes we question the path of this organization. Rinse wash repeat where 1 year mercenaries are going to take the much needed playing time of our youth in a year we have no shot to make the playoffs.

People should have looked for screens before beeing down on Frank's defense. When you are grabbed or pushed by the Big Guy, hard to defend, as good as you are.
Illegal screens for some games (and almost all teams do it) is the Real ref' scandal in this tounament IMO.

The knicks won't trade with mavs, spurs, or celtics they don't have good relationship with those teams. I could see rockets, clippers, or warriors trading there 1 round pick in 2020 draft for frank.
