Just as well, we got some chemistry going with 4 key guys. They get to knock off early and come back to the states, get a little extra rest and gear up for training camp in 3 weeks.

What 2 more game"?
Good assessment:

Damn! That was embarrassing! Who cares what the guys did good in the 3rd or early 4th, if they couldn’t finish it off. 6 missed free throws from our guys ain’t good. I guess they’ll learn something from this. This might fuel their drive for next season.

Re: FIBA World Cup
This game really boiled down to bad talent and worse fit.
Kemba had a bad game in international rules, not the least bit concerned.
Team had its most success with Jaylen at Center. let that sink in, the US national team was so bereft of talent at the bigs that it required a 6foot7 200ish pounder to defend bigs like what France was trotting out there.
Plumblee is bad, Turner has as many off nights as on.
Harris was a bad add to the team imo but options were very limited.
Barnes and middleton were terrible.
Celtics played within the system as required, played hard and showed great chemistry early on.

I knew Kemba wasn’t good defensively, but this tournament has been a revelation. I didn’t know he was an IT level liability.
Besides that, Brown was impressive the last few games and Smart was Smart. But yeah, team isn’t going anywhere with Kemba leading them

Nah
Smart already talked up his defense, and how he's way better than people realize. Also, he's taken game-saving charges down the stretch in two separate games.

Smart’s a great teammate. IIRC he talked up IT’s defense too.

It took an idiot to out coach Pop.
Go figure. Where was Timmy in his prime when Pop needed him?

I'm not a Vincent Collet fan. He was the head coach of my favorite team in France. I just hate him, and the way we played against Australia was just terrible.
Tbh, I don't think that you guys should blame Pop or the players. You should blame the players who didn't want to come play for their country...

Ding ding ding.
Gobert was the best player in the game and is the best player remaining in the tournament. Dont blame our guys for losing to a team with a better player, blame Dame, Harden and AD for ditching the team and putting them in that position.

Having the World Cup a year before the Olympics was a bad decision .

Re: FIBA World Cup
At least we'll get to see them play Serbia. Pride still on the line and that would be good basketball if both teams bring their A game.
