Pistons had a good offseason considering the cap situation. If they could of upgraded the PG spot would of done wonders

Telling that nobody has traded for Paul. There was no rush for people to come play with him in LA either. The only one wanted to play with him was Harden, and we see how that turned out

In Chris Paul's Defense, people not trading for him comes down to one thing. He has the 2nd worst contract in the NBA behind John Wall. Chris is the 2nd Highest paid player in the NBA with 3 years remaining. He isn't getting bought out at that amount either. Chris didn't give Houston any kind of discount to re-sign there (other than not signing for 5 years).
So glad Chris forced his way out of L.A. or we would be the team stuck with that contract. Ballmer was ready to give him the 5 year max deal had Chris opted out. Would have been the death of the franchise. No only did Chris force his way out, but he also loaded our cupboard in the process. He thought he was fast tracking to the NBA Finals.

Agree--we are lucky CP bailed. And agreed, his contract is an albatross [although somebody like the Hornets could have picked it up and the Heat still might]. But his situation is of his own making.
It was always my hope that CP and BG and the rest would take a little less to leave some $$ for the bench we so desperately needed. But again, just one more illustration that it was every man for himself.
In the end, they all got their dough. And in the end, they won't have a single ring between them.
