No one is talking about Willy.
This guy is going to be our backup C; his minutes could see a serious uptick 38% from 3 with a 20 PER make him sound legit; tho widely acknowledged around here as stiff in the paint and a turnstile on D. Still, 25 yo, is he a fit with the young core, can he be a surprise breakout candidate this year with increased usage? (my take: not a fan, trade him and give his C minutes to PJ Washington) Curious to hear whether anybody out there likes Guillermo

PJ Washington's minutes will be in Guilford County, not Mecklenburg.

Willy is looking pretty terrible against Australia, can’t score inside

he's unplayable unless there's another total stiff on the court. And even then he's virtually unplayable. cant beleive we gave up two picks for him

Should Coach be giving Willy more playing time?

absolutely not

he's the worst defensive big in the league. dude is great for garbage time stats, free rebounds, and amazing post moves against defenders who take him to the cleaners on the other end for double if not triple the efficiency

Yeah when were down 30 with 6 minutes to go.

Flamenco Billy's recent "improvement" https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/charlotte-hornets/article240798376.html
“He’s putting more effort in at the defensive end; that’s the area of most concern for me,” Borrego said. “The video and the numbers demonstrate to me that he’s making a bigger impact at that end of the floor than he has in the past; challenging more shots at the rim.”

All things considered, it would not take much. I hate watching opposing teams run a layup line.

Yeah, he's gonna be gone after this season. Kinda blows we gave up 2 second round picks (2020, 2021) to a guy that didn't really pan out. Those 2 second round picks this year and next are pretty valuable now that we have Mitch doing his thing.

I don't think it panned out that poorly - especially when considering what we'd given up in the past for other bigs who REALLY didn't pan out (Tyrus for example).

And honestly the value of 2nd round picks under Cho/Cliff was hugely different than what it is with Mitch.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
