It’s beyond me how Knick coaches are unable to draw the best from Frank and yet he has killed it during FIBA games. He has been a lockdown defender verse US and has scored confidently. As usual Knicks ineptitude and politics gets in the way of recognizing good talent.

His drives, mid range and 3 point shot have all improved significantly in these games.

I hope Frank forces Fiz's hand and gets real minutes

And I hope he excels so some fans will learn their damn lesson and stop giving up on young players.

So many of the best players in the league produced only a fraction of their eventual output in their first two years and we have so many fans who think they can determine every player's future after one season.

There's been a lot of Knicks in the past who I believed in when no one else did, and who I rooted extra hard for just to see people with egg on their face. Admittedly, not many of those players ever made me look too smart lol. But Frank is one of those guys, who I genuinely like as a person and whose game I see great potential in, and a kid who so many fans have been so impatient with and have given such a hard time to. He's now such an underdog and such a polarizing topic with the fan base, I can't help but love him and root for him more than any other player on the team. For him to blossom and become a fan favorite in the Garden would shock people, and would have a lot of loudmouth know-it-all types feeling sorry they ever doubted the young man. I live for that stuff.

, yeah B, he's a nice kid, easy to root for

Even his supporters had small doubts, but I think it should be clear from the FIBA show-out that Frank required the minutes and commitment that Jeff and Fiz withheld.

Some of Frank's struggles were definitely the franchise's fault, but if he breaks down the wall now at least he'll be stronger in spirit and harder to break going forwards.

Fiz is on notice. If he effs Frank up, there will be plenty of haters considering how suspect he already is as a coach.

He is not embraced by the current regime because he was selected by Phil Jackson and old regime. That is such bs and a big reason why Knicks will never be a good team.

All this hate for Fiz/Perry is misplaced.

The real story here is Popp and maybe Kerr getting an up close appraisal of Frank’s game.

Would anyone be even mildly surprised if San Antonio or GS make an offer?

Perry and pop don't get along because of marcus morris situation this past summer they have bad blood a trade with the spurs is not happpening. The teams i could see frank getting trade to are rockets, okc, hornets, bulls, suns, grizzles, raptors, magic, piston, clippers and blazers.

I'm as big of a Frank supporter as anyone, but this narrative that he wasn't given a chance last year to me is false. First of all he won a starting job on opening night. He battled for it and earned it. The man was given a chance. The issue is that he struggled, and anybody with a pair of working eyes could see it. The numbers are there to back it up, too. Another factor was that he was seemingly always injured, especially towards the end of the year, with nagging issues like his groin. Lastly the Knicks were clearly tanking, and were giving these one year guys such as Mudiay a chance; likely to give the Knicks a better rep with players, and also to help navigate the tank. All these issues combined led to lack of confidence and inability to get into any rhythm.

My point in saying all of this is that it's too premature to say that Fiz won't give Frank a chance this year and will just bury him on the bench again. We all know Frank had the makings of a great team player; plays defense, makes the right plays, good mechanics, etc. Now he's stronger, has refined his skills, and has clearly put in a lot of work and looks primed for a 3rd year breakout. This management doesn't seem inept, and seem to know the value of Frank as they were unwilling to let him go for a mere 2nd round pick. My belief is that he will be given a chance, but he will have to earn it which he looks ready to do.

Can't wait for the season to start!

He also made half the Celtics roster look silly especially in that 4th quarter.

I can see Ainge/Stevens remembering this game when the C’s inevitably underperform and look to shake it up via trade.

Its almost been 10 years since the knicks and celtics made trade the last trade they made was nate robinson for eddie house. The last time the knicks and spurs made a trade was 2005 nazr muhammed for malik rose.

Popovich can just offer a PF, and Perry can't say no.

Just keep in mindthat Frank was really bad last year and that a lot of it had to do with his ball handling deficiencies and lack of explosiveness. He looks great right now and I'm rooting for him, but you couldn't give him 30 minutes last year.

I'd agree with that. I think they just should have been more consistent with the role and minutes. Even if those minutes were 12-15 mpg.

I think most people who supported Frank were in the same boat - coaching staff could have had more consistency of approach.

Anyway, not the end of the world either; he got some minutes etc. I always felt it was going to take a while IF he put it together.

Piss off. We already told you not to tell us how to manage our expectations.
