Just don’t forget that their is another possible, more likely outcome here.

The people who make these crazy, long shot predictions, and are subsequently proven wrong, generally disappear off the face of the earth rather than face the music later. While you’re printing receipts, don’t forget to come back in April and own the results either way.

Top 20 would be a more realistic ambitious goal

Siakam has one or two good post moves, no mid range game and a suspect handle... not to mention he’s still learning to be a playmaker for others.

His bread and butter is transition, but this won’t be enough to make him a top 20 player let alone top 5.

If he’s an all-star this year, consider it a good season. I’m not expecting all-NBA status, though.

Siakam was unbelievable last year, he won the MIP while helping his team win the championship. Just check out this offseason video of him improving his jumpshot. He's essentially Giannis but with a 3pt shot. His jumper is WET WET WET!!

You heard it here first, he's going to breakout this year another level into superstardom. He's an elite defender that can't be stopped when he's attacking you (maybe Embiid but he stops everyone).

Take it to the bank.

Y’all won’t be good. Lowry/Gasol/Ibaka we al. not aging? OG suddenly stepping up? Siakam becoming this?

Nah, y’all are going to learn about non contending basketball like everyone else

Learn? Raps fans have university degrees in non contending basketball, you’ll have to do better if you want to scare us.

It's all about how the team does. The Raptors have shown in the past their #1 option can get an all-NBA team berth despite not being on the same level a others making the team with 50+ wins.

"Essentially Giannis, but better" is a pretty ****ing spicy take.

l like Siakam a lot but not gonna happen, only way you can be a top 5 guy is if you're an elite 3 level scorer or elite playmaker and a combination of other things

The unbridled optimism from the OP is nice to see but it’s obviously a tad unrealistic. I think Siakam makes it to the ASG and maybe gets some All-Defence noise but the league still has some really incredible talents who also are getting better.

He’s actually got a great handle for a PF, arguably the best in the league. That’s the least of his problems.

But your point that he thrives much better in transition rather than the half court is bang on. That’s where he can find mismatches and take advantage of smaller players. When teams get to match up size against him, things haven’t been nearly as efficient because of that lack of midrange game.

He's already top 20 since a lot of players will get washed up. Top 10 should be the goal but top 5 is quite ambitious.

Best player on a playoff team, which will be enough to get a spot in the All Star game as a reserve.

But that's it man, bare Top-25 if he keeps improving as we expect

Gonna be ugly when every other team game plans to stop him and then they'll have to rely on Lowry again to be the top guy.

top 5 is unlikely. that would be MVP heavy considerations.

post a work out video: player will be a top player in the L - just you watch!

Ninja dude just makes the Raptors fans more toxic than they already are smh

He wouldn’t even be top 5 in the pacific division this year.

I like him. Great pick by Ujiri. Could def be an all star this year. But top 5? Cmon man
