Double championship for Scariolo as well...I didn't know he was an assistant for the Raptors.

Never underestimate the heart of a champion, what a great run by my national team, going undefeated.

Looking forward to one more epic Olympics Finals vs USA next summer!

I have never said refs helped you today. However, if everything was straight, you wouldn't even play in this finals. It would've been Australia. That Bogut ''foul'' on Gasol

Yes, all players flop, it's just that Spaniards do it more often. Same goes for football or soccer, however you call it.

Epic? Say you make it to the finals, team USA will do a walkover there with a full roster. Spanish team is good, but miles away from those 2008 or 2012 Spanish teams.

Well done FIBA clearing the path yet again for Spaniards.
Every year it's the same. I know Realgm do not follow youth tournaments much but it's worse than this.

For U18 it was shame, not for U16 it was actually a technical for Serbia. Markovic screwed up. WE may had the video of France-Spain 2015 where Gasol pushed l'Auvergne, or even the whole game!

you mean the game where gobert commited 8 fouls on gasol before fouling out?

Did we see the same game?! Gasol was allowed to do boxe!
Whatever, we should had done it with refs, and we did not.

The Bogut foul was as bogus as some fouls they called on Spanish players throughout the game, including the one they called right after on Claver to bail out Mills. Stop being butthurt.

More than "referees help this nation or an other one" is that from a game to an other they don't work the same way.
Lithuanian's coach was right about lack of coherence from a game to an other. When I Saw that a french would ref, I think "S***, Argentina has already Lost. They will not Can be si agressive as against France". Because in France, moving screens, using arms etc... Is really forbidden. And Spanish are very strong for adapting their play to the refs.
BTW I was quite angry about this Argentina's defense with a lot of contacts , but French players should had done the same stuff. So they lose. Argentina was not helped, but the way to call was more adapted for them.
I was also agry with the first game against Australia, they were always grabbing with hands, essentially while they put screens. But France could do the same, but that wasn't its culture of playing basketball.
I think FIBA should pay attention that not any ref adapt rules for a culture or an other one. If refs called one way to play, but it don't fit to the rules, they don't call this refs. One sport, one World, one rules Book.

Last point, Rosso is not the best french ref but was here for the final. Indeed, the best European refs are in euroleague.

Sure thing. Comparing apples to oranges. Y'know, it's not the same to call a foul in the second quarter and or 2 seconds before the game ends. Do you agree?

Butthurt? No. I'm not even Aussie, but I happen to have eyes and happen to know basketball rules.

This young man happens to watch basketball for 20 years and have seen all kinds of **** up decisions from the refs in Spain's favor. Do you happen to remember Luigi Lamonica butchering Croatia in that Spain vs Croatia game in 2005 (Belgrade)? It was one of the biggest scandals in FIBA history with officiating. You should check your memory before replying to me.

What the heck? I just mentioned a foul that happened soon after the one you’re referring to, and was very important as well. In fact, you could argue it was more important, as it was with Spain +1 with four seconds left in the clock in the fourth quarter. Had Mills made both free throws, Spain would have lost on account of that bogus call on Claver. It was just as bad a call as Bogut‘s, arguably worse. Refs weren‘t even able to pin it on any Spanish player at first, it was just hilariously lame to see.

If you‘re going to push and agenda like that, you‘d better dot your I‘s and cross your T‘s before you do it, or you‘re going to get exposed like a biased hater. But hey, at the end of the day Spain are world champions. You‘re gonna have to deal with it.

Refs were very bad in that game, on both sides. No objective person could argue otherwise. In fact, refs have been so terrible this tournament -today was no exception- I find it disingenuous to try and make excuses for anyone‘s defeat by blaming the refs. They were SO bad everybody received their share of bad calls.

Just 20? I watch basketball since 1986 and yes, refs **** Croatia in that game, but that doesn't give you a reason to say refs always help Spain, young man, because you are wrong. So please stop whining.

About oficciating scandals maybe you are too young to know about playing versus a Greek team in the 90s...

A certain Spanish soccer coach used to say cows from Lezama have seen an awful lot of soccer, and it doesn‘t mean they know the first thing about it. Using age as an argument from authority is just sad to see.

Don‘t forget, guys -whiners are wieners.

Oooh, I forgot about that game. I even watched it live in the arena. Refs made Serbs cheering for Croatia only several years after the war

If we‘re going to play this game I‘ll just casually mention, off the top of my head, the Yugoslavia-Spain bronze game back in Cali ‘82 where refs screwed then-modest Spanish national team that would go on to win the silver medal in Los Angeles a couple of years later. Or the Indianapolis final, where refs swallowed up their whistles on an obvious late shooting foul that would have prevented the overtime where Serbia and Montenegero prevailed, thus making Argentina world‘s champions.

Seriously guys, of all people, folks from the Balkans talking refeering. As if you guys hadn’t ever been favored by refs. ‚Let him who is without sin cast the first stone‘.

You know, it is funny that you talk **** about refs favouring Spain, but you conveniently forget that the USA get a hard pass for their travelling violations. You can't make the 2 steps you do in the NBA in FIBA, but they got away with it. In the 2008 Olympic finals they got away with at least 23 travellings. 23.

But hey, let's diminish the incredible accomplishments of the best team in basketball for the past 13 years calling out the refs. Of course, you only see when they favour Spain, but never when they go against.

The thing is Spain is the WC like it or not. Australia had their chances, and kill spain in rebounds. Mills had a ft to win it.
So it's stupid to not give credit to Spain. They finished 8-0 and beat Serbia, Australia and Argentina. They weren't favs in any game. Argentina beat Serbia too and France who beat USA. So props to Spain, and to Scariolo.
