Besides the fact that he probably thinks he’s an all
NBA player in his mind, he plays negative level defense and plays the antithesis of what is considered efficient offense.

I think he can still help a team get over the hump and i would trust Bud and his staff to get what they need out of him

Anyone advocating for Melo should be banned from the board.

Nobody is black balling him.He just isnt good enough anymore to play and he can't accept it.

It’d be cool if we saw only the following rotation for 3 out of 5 preseason games:

Mason III/Adams
DiVincenzo/Tucker
Brown/Reynolds
Wilson/Thanasis
Bender/Maye

I think he is very much good enough to play...just not in the role he seems to still think he deserves. I still dont want the Bucks to mess with him though.

Never Melo. Let him wind up in NYC or LA at some point in the season. It would be disrespectful to Giannis if the Bucks brought him in.

DDV is 100% but will not play in the preseason, or the first 30 regular season games, or the last 25 regular season games, or the playoffs.

That is my big worry. We need him or Mason to play some minutes at either guard spot. The roster certainly could use another combo guard.

This was a good albeit a bit lengthy read. Lots of film on a bunch of buy low options. My boy Ntilikina who had a pretty solid showing in FIBA is topping the list.

The last time he was "quality starter" good was 2013-14. The last time he was "decent bench guy" good was 2016-17.
Some guys have an aberrant good year late in their career, but I see no reason to bet on it.

You made me Google a word over a Melo description- That's frustrating.

So what do we think of Thanasis after this WC?
He played 5 games, averaged 6 points in 12 mins, shot 54% from the field, 37% from 3 and 50% FTs. Strangely FIBA's official website has no data on rebounds or blocks, but he had some of those too.

Personally I liked his D and although he was pretty neutral on offense he also didn't harm the team with TOs, mental mistakes or bad decisions. Showed some court vision too. Overall he looked useful to me.

DDV got some rumbles for sixth man of the year upcoming. I don't see it... But, someone went there. Hope those heels hold out.

Still looks a lot like a bigger Pietrus to me. May have the spelling off, been a few years. Great man defender, over-reacts tho like Patty C. If he can hit the three legitimately I really like him as a rotation guy. If not I still like him as a change-up guy when we go full high speed switch everything. Not that we ever do, but in my imagination it's a thing.

Thanasis is not a rotation player. I will eat crow, but I don't even think it's even a discussion right now. It's a fiba three not NBA three so I take zero stock in that three point number.

Hence the qualifier.

From who? I'll give him some rumble for 12th man of the year, but that's about it.
