Siakam makes another Siakam-like jump. Because Siakam always jumps like Siakam.

Re: What player makes the most Siakam-like jump in 2019-2020
Blazer fans are hoping it's Zach Collins and/or Anfernee Simons. They'll have the opportunities but they are still really young; Siakam was 3 years older when he had his 'jump'
maybe Jaren Jackson although it's harder to improve on 14 & 5. How about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander?

Gonna stick to the Rico Hines prodigies and say Thomas Bryant in terms of coming out of nowhere. A lot of the other names mentioned are kids we kinda expect to make some sort of leap coming up.

Matt Thomas, from out of nowhere to becoming a star.

If Siakam makes another Siakam-like jump propelling himself into the NBA top 3 or even top 5, that would be mindblowing.

Re: What player makes the most Siakam-like jump in 2019-2020
It's not just Pascal Siakam who made the jump. We had John Collins, Lauri Markkanen, Buddy Hield, and Mitchell Robinson make a similar jump in their own ways. Siakam played the most games tho.
Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell were up there, too, but have been more consistent so wasn't as big a jump.

Lonzo Ball. He’s in a MUCH better position to succeed in New Orleans and he’s incredibly talented.

Thomas Bryant
I think Thomas could become a top 5 Center by the end of next season.
Also consider Lonzo, Tatum, Kuzma

His name is Kyle Kuzma.
Not only will he impress during the regular season, but he will stand out in the playoffs and be an important contributor in the finals.

Re: What player makes the most Siakam-like jump in 2019-2020
I don't like the idea of calling on the improvements of 2nd year players. Siakam made the jump in his age 24 season (which was his 3rd season). Predicting that 20 year old Marvin Bagley, Ayton or JJJ are going to get better cheapens the discussion in my opinion. Of course they will all get better.
I'm gonna go with guys that have been in the league for a little longer that I see in totally new roles that I predict will increase their overall ranking.
Myles Turner - He was one of the best defensive big men in the league last year. He's improved his 3fg% every year he's been in the league to the point where he now shot 39% from deep last year. He just got done playing with Team USA and had a decent showing and with Oladipo still a few months away and Bogdanovic now in Utah, Turner is now their most proven player. He's always been critiqued as being too passive offensively but if there is ever a time when he will be forced to be more assertive and take the next step, it's now. If Sabonis and him can co-exist on the floor together, he will probably be getting more minutes and more likely a higher usage%. I don't think 17/9/2 with 1.5 3's, 2.5 blocks, and 1 steal is at all out of the possibility.
Malcom Brogdon - Totally new situation for him. He was 4th in USG% last year on the Bucks and he's now entering a situation where he's likely the primary ball-handler. He was uber efficient last year so I expect that to go down but his numbers should increase with a much bigger role.. at least until Dipo gets healthy and by that time he may have already carved out his role.
I also think; Marcus Smart, Julius Randle, Kelly Oubre, Zach Collins all going to take the next steps...

Re: What player makes the most Siakam-like jump in 2019-2020
Norman Powell make the jump as he takes the starting SG position and extra shot up for grabs with the defending champs.
Hopefully we finally get that break out season from him and see something along the lines of his per36 #'s with an increased role that we paid him that extension for.

Marvin Bagley and Lauri Markkanen have that potential.
Two years from now, keep an eye on Troy Brown Jr. with the Wizards.

I'd say Jaylen Brown if that team didnt have so many guys who need the ball in their hands.
Other possibilities off the top of my head:
OG Anunoby
Bam Adebayo
Myles Turner
DeAaron Fox
Lonzo Ball
Dennis Smith Jr
Jonathan Isaac

Dante Exum. He is finally going to have a healthy year and put it all together. He was suddenly looking like "finally fulfilling his potential" last season before he was injured yet again. Not throwing his name in just because he plays for the Jazz - I think he is poised for a breakout.

Markelle Fultz. He'll ease into it and by the second half of the season, people will call him a 2020-2021 all-star

Re: What player makes the most Siakam-like jump in 2019-2020
The thing about Siakam was that for those who followed his NBA journey from the start, this wasn't entirely out of the blue. He shredded the D-League playing exactly the way he did last year, it's just that he never had his shot until last season. But even then the season before he showed shades of it being an integral part of those Raptors bench squads that routinely ranked as amongst the best 5 man lineups in the league.
Basically he made tangible improvements to his game, but a lot of his jump was from gaining a lot of confidence in himself and getting a ton of trust from his coaches. A lot of the stuff he showed off already existed.
Next season I'm going with my man Derrick White. He's known mainly for his defense, but not a lot of people realize how skilled overall he is. In the G-League he looked like Bradley Beal. While that was against G-League level players, he showed throughout last year he was capable of pulling off those kinds of performances, and actually managed to do so in the playoffs.
