There are reasons and they've been stated on Realgm numerous times. He was the #1 pick and with that comes big expectations. Had he fulfilled them the Sixers would look a lot different now (which also would change things in the East).
But he didn't and the answers we got (the fans) are questionable at best. The Magic obviously believe in him so we'll see how he does going forward.
"High expectations" is not a reason to act like people are doing with him.
no, but being caught in a series of bald faced lies is. People don't like liars, people applaud honesty. Don't lie to my face and tell me you have a shoulder injury when anyone with 2 eyes and a working brain can see you clearly have some sort of mental deficiency/illness causing ALL of your problems. Be honest and up front and people will sympathize. Repeatedly lie about a shoulder injury and the time table for your return and fans will turn on you with justification. I still remember his agent saying he has TOS and he will be back on the court after 6 weeks of PT. That was a year ago. Now the Magic are even saying there is still no timetable for his return. All because of an alleged TOS injury that is so minor it doesn't require surgery.
He's a liar and he's taking advantage of society's reluctance to call out people who claim to be hurt, he's using that as a shield to protect what is left of his reputation.
