So many jumpers off the dribble...this dude could really be a gem if that's real progression...improved defense would help a lot too.

There's some stretch 4 Melo in his game, and I mean that as a compliment.

It's hard not to get excited about Julius but I want to see him play a couple months before I buy into the hype. I also see shades of David Lee in his game and he didn't lead us anywhere despite putting up some gaudy numbers. But like Zach Lavine Randle's improved every season since he entered the league and those are the guys I usually trust because that means they put in the work. I really want to get excited.
Melo should have moved to the 4 earlier in his career. He was a killer at the 4, he rebounds well, and his defense wasnt bad at the 4.

“We already know Mitch can dunk. Let’s see the baby jumper and the 3 ball, and let’s dump it down and let him work on that side of the floor with the clearout.”

I think Mitch should start. I think Mitch will start. I also think it's not a given Mitch will start.

I also think the Knicks will cap his minutes around 28 per game, for a variety of reasons. Most of them being he's a 2nd year player, others around keeping him fresh, impactful, and saving him and any foul troubles for the 4th quarter.

I'm fine with Mitch playing 28 mpg this year

He's the new, improved, non-diva KP -- our future. So let him start, use our deep bench to keep his minutes under control, and do what they do in every business: let the younger guys assume more responsibility as they demonstrate they're up to the task. Mitch will become an on-court executive one day if his career is nurtured properly.

Give him 28 & give Randle the majority (if not all) of the rest of the minutes at C. Opens up enough mins for Knox and Morris at the 4 and will allow some more minutes for 3 guard lineups / RJ at the 3

I don't see any reason for randle to play the 5 when we have bobby portis.

Ok well when bobby and randle are on the court together you can pretend that randle is at the 5. Problem solved

I think Portis can get about 10 mpg. Basically, it's almost like his and Knox's minutes are tied, in how much time they want Knox to see at the 4 (if any), since I see Morris and Randle getting most of the minutes at 4, and Randle and Mitch at 5, but there still being - so that's 96 minutes split 3 ways. But since Morris will also see time at the 3, and Mitch probably averages 28 mpg, there is...I don't know. Some minutes for Portis to back up 4 and 5.

I see the rotation differently

3 morris 22/knox 20/ iggy 6
4 randle 34/ iggy 10/ bobby 4
5 mitch 30/ bobby 14/ taj 4

Nothing wrong with those choices and I wish Iggy gets that chance, but I keep going back to how often Randle has played at the 5 and how much Fiz gushed over it.
