Why? It may have a bad contract attached to it since most teams probably have to match salary.
Ok, what team that is currently in the tax would trade a 1st for Dragic? Or you think someone wants to create cap space for historically bad FA class?

Who's table?
I could imagine OKC offering it, don't see Miami taking it. An unknown FRP + Bazley is probably < Winslow, equal at best. Winslow in a re-draft would be in the 5-10 range. He is also on a reasonable contract for a while. Bazley is a 23rd pick and i'm going to assume the pick is a Houston one in the near future so in the 20's.
So Paul for JJ and Dion is just trading out 2 x 2 year undesirable contracts that will still be serviceable for the duration for a dude that jeopardises future FA with a 3 yr but is probably not good enough to get you to the promised land, and is a risk of falling off the cliff at any stage.
And we give up a 2nd rounder (Do we have any?)
I would think that deal makes sense (some) without Winslow, maybe with Leonard or KO instead.

If that was actually on the table, that is why it will not get done. It has been clear what the Heat wants. That is more than what they were willing to give for Westbrook. If the deal gets done before the season it will likely happen during the preseason. The Heat likely want to see what they have since they made it this far in the offseason.

Let’s assume for a sec that this proposal is legit, i’d Assume that Mia’s interest in the pieces around CP3 are to later facilitate another trade. In this context Bazley is an attractive young piece to go with a frp that Riley can package and flip for another potential cornerstone vet.

Re: Official Offseason thread Vol 3: Bck2BACK
With Winslow adamant about playing PG this year I'm really hoping he's working on his free throw shooting. I'm glad he's made strides with his three point shooting but 62% from the charity stripe is not going to cut it from the starting PG spot. From his training regimen it looks like the Heat are also on board with him playing PG. PG Winslow, SG Waiters, and SF Butler is something i'm willing to role with. Dragic at this stage should be coming off the bench until a suitable trade partner is found or he just accepts his role.

Doesn't have to be exactly in the tax this season, may want to create more flexibility in the future.
Just going over rosters really quick, I can come up with...
- Milwaukee wants to get off Bledsoe's money and possibly get a better playoff performer in the playoffs?
- Detroit doesn't want to waste another Blake season and wants to swap Jackson for Dragic, probably expand the trade to add in Snell and maybe take on someone like J.Johnson and whatever small pieces that had to be included.
- Washington in a desperate attempt to not upset Beal this season could try to bring Dragic in for a combination of Mahinmi and 1 or 2 other contracts(might have to be a bigger package). I get RIley wants Beal but an asset to use in a near future trade.
- Dallas, packages built around Hardaway or after Dec 15th like C.Lee and someone(s) elese for Dragic.
- Minnesota would love to get rid of Dieng a year early(in a small package) but they'd push the #1 pick off for a few(maybe 3-4) years and it might make a lot of sense if Minnesota goes after D.Lo and havin a guy like Dragic(even in a 3 team trade) would help keep GS's rotation strong this year and possibly the next few years(if they resign him).
- Portland, if A.Simons doesn't do as well as they'd like and they don't need Bazemore, could do a Bazemore/Dragic swap throwing in a 1st to really strengthen their roster and of course they may make A.Simons available in a trade package with Whiteside(once Nurkic is back and fine) for K.Love. For Portland they have a path to have a strong 8 man rotation of starting Lillard, CJ, Hood/Hezonja, Love, Nurkic with Dragic, Z.Collins and one of Hood/Hezonja coming off the bench.

For the record, I acknowledged the platforming pushback that these boards have on unsubstantiated twitter accounts being cited prior to me sharing 305's tweets.
I half agree.
I also got pushback from 1 or 2 posters who demanded a source after I posted about "twitter rumors".
The rumors itself, imo, ought to be taken with a grain of salt, but they also are discussion-worthy merely from the standpoint of contemplating the 'what if's.'
If the argument ultimately is that it's a waste of time to post about 'what if' roster scenarios, then I just have a different view about the value of posting on basketball message boards.

I'm just hoping old man Riley doesn't misread Bazley as Beasley and rushes to hit accept

Herro should/will be in the starting lineup. Let Waiters and Dragic play off the bench.

Butler 27%
Winslow 24%
Adebayo 19%
Herro 19%
Olynyk 18%

Do you believe Herro is going to be a star and if so by using numbers explain star?Feel_the_Heat15 wrote:MettaWorldPanda wrote:With Winslow adamant about playing PG this year I'm really hoping he's working on his free throw shooting. I think he has a 50% chance of becoming a star. If he were to become a star I think it'd be through way of assists and volume shooting.
22 PPG with a TS% of 55 and 4.5 assists would make him a star in my opinion.

That's not a star in the current NBA, that TS% probably isn't even league average now, 23 of the 30 teams in the NBA shot 55% or higher TS% last year.

It's not impressive by itself but add in assists, 3s and PPG and it is. For example, Kemba Walker is considered a star yet his TS% was only 55.8% last season.

Is he? He's a fringe all-star, not good on defense and led the Hornets to 2 .500 or higher seasons in 8 years.

Kemba Walker right now would give us a chance at the #1 seed in the East.
