Image be real. You want the worse from this Achilles injury cause he’s a net. If he was wearing Blue and orange you’d be preaching something different like you was before free agency and I can go pull all of your posts being hopeful for KD even after his injury

So you gonna pull up posts about me asking what exactly our plan was after the Kawahi reports? Lmao the fact that you went through all that trouble proves how insecure you nets fans are

Lol Wait, He’s insecure by catching you slipping and proving his point? You got owned, man. The vast majority wanted and expected him to join despite the achilles tear but now Knick fans keep pretending otherwise due to his decision. That response is actually the definition of insecure lol

We’re just having some off season talk. It’s Knick fans such as yourself that keep pretending to have minimal interest in a guy you all swore was taking a meeting with the Knicks guaranteed. Admit the narrative change is sour grapes and move on lol

So are implying that if Knicks signed KD that I wouldve just ignored that he tore his Achilles?

Nets fans get more fired up trash talking the inner city rivalry then they get hype about the team. At least that's how it appears on this site at least.

That’s unfortunate but I think it’ll be better in your Nets forum when the games begin and the rest of the posters stop thinking about the Knicks.

Another reason KD may want to come back early
Because there was not a sign-and-trade agreement in place for D’Angelo Russell when Brooklyn’s new stars committed on July 30, both Irving and Durant at first were set to have $4-5 million in unlikely bonuses in their contracts. That extra $10 million -- generated because unlikely bonuses don’t count toward the salary cap -- would have allowed the team to sign Irving and Durant outright and use the remaining room on free agent DeAndre Jordan and second-round pick Nicolas Claxton.

However, both players caught a financial break when Golden State approached Brooklyn later that night about the possibility of acquiring Russell in a sign-and-trade for Durant. Because cap space was not required to sign Durant, Brooklyn only needed to structure $1 million in unlikely bonuses for Irving to still have room for Jordan and Claxton. In total, Durant and Irving could have opened the door to lose a combined $16 million had the Warriors not stepped in at the last minute.

The $1 million in unlikely incentives for Irving are broken into eight $125,000 bonuses, ranging from games played, statistical benchmarks and offensive/defensive rating. All eight are deemed unlikely for cap purposes since they weren’t achieved in 2018-19.

KD got bonuses written into his deal, Marks added. And he’ll likely get this one...

Durant still has a $1 million bonus based on the success of the team -- even if he doesn’t play this season. If the Nets reach the first round of the playoffs or win at least 43 games, Durant reaches the criteria.

He might think Brooklyn might not reach 43 wins and make the playoffs without him and understandably so he's an amazing talent.
I don't think he's greedy for the cash though more likely he's just itching to play.

That part isn't entirely accurate. The Knick forum was pretty decidedly split on whether to sign KD post injury. It was definitely not "the vast majority." I'm not sure where you get that from. There was a LOT of hesitation once he tore the achilles. I wanted the team to sign him as I thought it would be worth the risk but the idea didn't sound nearly as appealing post injury. Regardless, not sure what this has to do with the Knicks. I think it's objectively clear the Nets are still the little brother of the city, but that can change if they win finals (not get there, win it).

I actually think the inner city rivalry is gonna be dope for the city. Subway series are always lit. Yankees vs Mets, Giants vs Jets. We never really got to experience a real Knick vs Net rivalry. I always only considered our biggest rivals to he Celtics. If your fanbase wasnt so dam cocky I would actually be really happy for yall. Both teams are headed in the right direction. I just get annoyed when media downplays the Knicks plan B. Im not gonna act like I didnt want KD after he tore his Achilles but my reasons were different. . If we didnt get Kawahi. I wanted KD to come solo and be a mentor to Knox and RJ. I understand that he wanted to play with his boy tho

Knicks fans already went through alot with signing injured stars. I really didnt wanna go through another Antonio Mcdyess, Amare or even KP.

Knicks never keep a young core so im happy that we chose to stick with the youth. Essentially we are doing a Brooklyn Nets rebuild. 2 years from now people will be looking at us different.

If KD didn’t tear his Achilles, there’s a good chance the knicks weren’t drafting with their pick and would be signing 2 max FAs.

Having 2 stars in your own backyard is enough to trigger some ppl, but a lot of Knick fans preferred a stable rebuild. As a bit of a honorary fan of the knicks, I’m down for the win now culture as well but signing an Injured player doesn’t fit that recipe and Kyrie doesn’t have the ingredients to lift the losingest team last year, he didnt even have it for the Celtics.

The jersey thing is a troll job but maybe it’s because we have all heard the jokes about the Nets 4 fans.

Kyrie was never going to Knicks

The injury changed everything tho for Kd

But no point in going back and fourth about this. The truth will come out eventually.

What rivalry? Y’all a 11th seed and we are a playoff team. A true rivalry is what’s going on in LA. Both playoff teams with potential to reach the finals. What’s going on in NY is one is a playoff team and a future contender and the other is a team that probably won’t win more than 22 games a season for the next few years.
