Injuries: Expired Thread

Post#1 » by Parliament10 » Wed Sep 4, 2019 2:54 pm

Just keeping a record. In an effort to include injuries in the whole NBA process.
Although I can't find it right now, I've read that an NBA team experiences 10% of Injuries, during a season.

https://www.momsteam.com/sports/basketball-injury-statistics-for-boys
Twenty-two percent of all male basketball players sustained at least one time-loss injury each year.

Thank God that 1. Jayson is ok and 2. he's staying on. Huge respect to him and Marcus for gutting it out.

Can he please pan out to be Bradley Beal-esque? Would like that.

Bradley Beal would be a fantastic outcome for a 14 pick, but I'm hoping we develop him a bit differently.

He's got such a good frame and physical strength that I hope we can get him onto a Paul Pierce track - a guy who rebounds, bodies up wings and gets to the line. A power game with finesse skills.

That's what made Pierce so good for a really good team instead of just a big number/bad team guy. When his offensive volume scaled down, he was still a rugged defender with a great floor game. And he was great in grind it out playoff games when you needed a guy who could get to the line or muscle something home when jumpers weren't falling.

I'm a huge Romeo homer, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think he has the tools to be the most complete player of our wings. He doesn't have Jaylen's explosive athleticism and power or Tatum's silky J/footwork, but he's got a great base of skill and physicality.

I trust Brad to do a good job of getting him to buy in defensively, but I hope he takes it upon himself to find the right role models offensively.

So far Romeo not so hot in Doc's old favorite ability: avail-ability.
