As said, if you want it for travel then Chase Sapphire is the way to go. We're putting almost all of our wedding expenses on it and then using the rewards to pay for the Honeymoon. It has a high interest rate though so you need to pay it off every month.
I don't know how often you ride the train, but I ride it a ton between Chicago and Milwaukee. Amtrak has a pretty nice deal where you get something like 12,000 bonus points if you put $1000 on it in the first 90 days. Again, with a wedding to pay for that was no problem. It's no fee and that 12K ends up as like 25 free one-way rides between Chicago/Milwaukee (so roughly $300). Then it's double points on every Amtrak dollar spent. So after we use up the free rides, we'll just use that card to buy train tix.
