Facial fractures don't really have anything to do with injury proneness. We went over this with Embiid.

Neither Kyrie nor Embiid had previous facial fractures

Correction: not true for Kyrie

Agree but one thing with irving, he’s had a fractured jaw, and two fractured noses before at a minimum just off top my head before this one.... if anything him going to hospital is him being cautious given that he does have a pretty beat up face.

You sure? The article does say this:

Irving also suffered a facial fracture early in his tenure with the Boston Celtics in 2017. Irving also broke his maxilla during the 12-13 season and his nose the following year.

:nonono: FAIL

RealGM offseason when random elbows = injury prone

Even funnier is that most players wouldn't even miss time and play with a mask so how is that injury prone again?

Nope, not in the least bit apparently. I was really just carrying over my Embiid argument and forgot it didn't apply to Kyrie

Let someone elbow you in the face and let's see how well your facial structure holds up.

Maybe Kyrie is more likely to put his face into the situation of being elbowed compared to others.

It’s cause he’s smaller and crafty - also moves low to the ground a lot - taller defenders or other players just more likely to hit him in the face. It’s not the same thing as a guy who is injury prone on his legs arms and back - especially with a history of non-contact injuries.

That said, Kyrie actually does fall Into the latter category ;) - this face thing doesn’t count though.

Maybe his face is positioned in an ever so slightly more dangerous position due to him standing on a perfectly flat surface at all times.

Lmao. This guy is going to definitely be my new sig.

Nothing like an elbow from a random dude at the gym compared to the weight of a likely 230+ pound 6’11 or 6’9 athlete...

I’m guessing Westbrook is made of glass for breaking a bone in his face during a playoff series?
