Nets sign C.J. Williams, Lance Thomas & John Egbunu for final roster spot

Post#1 » by Paradise » Wed Sep 25, 2019 6:35 pm

I would’ve also liked Lance Thomas more so than anybody else but Williams is a good pick up for a two way or Exhibit 10 deal.

The Brooklyn Nets have reached agreement on a contract with free agent shooting guard/small forward C.J. Williams, according to Nicola Lupo of Sportando.

Williams, 29, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 15 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves last season. He has also spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers, overseas and the G League.

The roster currently stands at the offseason limit of 20.

Lance Thomas is a local product (from Scotch Plains, my neck of the woods) and was hitting around 40% from deep prior to his shot falling off a cliff last season. He would be a good fit here imo

Glad we shut the door on the Melo stuff.

Lance Thomas is exactly the kind of guy I wanted. Scrappy vet who defends, plays hard and won't complain. Don't think he's much of a shooter or scorer anymore but our 4s last year were something like 32% from 3. Good backup to have in case Rodi misses some games or we need someone stronger at the 4.

Lance would be a decent pickup if he's healthy I heard he was injured a lot last year. Dante Cunningham played for Brooklyn already but maybe he's retiring. I got my eye on another power forward who I won't name at this time but he's not a stretch 4.

The center they picked up John Egbunu is interesting. A Nigerian rim running shot blocker he might turn into a good player.

I got the burner-Kevin Durant

If Lance can get his 3 point shot going again I can see him being a solid player for us.

I like the Lance signing, pretty much better than what Wilson would have gave us.

I believe Wilson Chandler’s suspension doesn’t kick in until November 1st. He could theoretically make the argument to replace him but Chandler will also be active during preseason. It’s a legit competition now. Only Chandler can blame himself.

I think Lance Thomas could be a solid fit next to DJ, Kurucs, Dinwiddie, Nawba, Temple off the bench. He’s definitely a culture fit. CJ Williams also adds a level of grit we will need out there.

Wow disgusting. Please cut him right now.

So many FAs would be happy to sign with the premier team in NYC.

I don't care if Lance is from the same area as me, he's one of the New Jersey Union county Knicks fans. He can be cut now
