Haha... I want to flip a table over when I see two kringle at a party and neither of them are Pecan/Almond.

I'm partial to Larson's because my church growing up for some reason favored Larson's. I'm kinda amazed that they are both still in business after all these years.

EDIT - I was in Bendtsen's a few weeks ago and there was a super hot milf in there. I am impressed by anyone who can work there and not be obese.

Speaking of food, does anyone have any killer pressure cooker recipes? Recently got one and I'm pumped to try it out.

There's a Kurdish restaurant here in Chicago that has the best coffee I've ever had. They roast the beans with pistachios and then grind up the pistachios with the beans. It was so rich....worth the $5 for the three little sips.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

As I'm sure you know, the general idea behind a pressure cooker is that you can take things that take a lot of time to cook and reduce that cook time so significantly. I mention that to preface why I love using it to make a nice pot roast, or the bbq shredded chicken that I made this past weekend, or the amazing mushroom risotto that made my date melt a few weeks ago when I cooked it for her.

One of the things I'm planning to make when it cools down a bit more is this pressure cooker french onion soup. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

If you're ever looking to have kanafeh stateside, you can have a half/full tray overnighted from the best middle eastern bakery in the US - Shatila. It's based out of Dearborn. It's not cheap to do so - usually if I'm going to do it, I'll arrange a large order of sweets to split among the family to make it cost effective, and then vaccum seal individual pieces of Kanafeh and freeze it for future consumption. Or if I know someone headed in that direction, I'll ask them to do me a favor. But it's so good.

I'm going to Detroit for a friend's wedding next summer, and you know I'll be making a detour on the ride back.

Anyone been to Hungry Sumo in Bayview?

Can confirm Shatila’s greatness. Moving back to metro mke from Detroit, has made it abundantly clear how terrible the middle eastern food is here and how terrible the Mexican food was there.

I met Michael Symon once. He told me a great trick to making something simple that tastes amazing. I might have mentioned this on here before but I just had it again and it was so good I could die. Take a good rustic bread and make a couple thick slices. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle on some kosher salt. Bake it in the oven at 350 for about ten minutes, then broil for for one to get a nice golden color. Take it out and immediately smash half a garlic clove over the surface, followed by smashing an 8th of a tomato. Sprinkle a little more kosher salt and enjoy a snack so good you won't believe it.

The bread is important, here. I used a focaccia baked with hot peppers and italian seasoning.

Ah, there are some good middle eastern spots in Milwaukee - Holy Land on 27th and Ramsey and AlYousef on 20th and College are really good. I also like Pita Palace off of 6th and Layton - I think they're owned by the AL Yousef folks and they're more of a fast-casual spot.

But I haven't found a Bakery like Shatila. Goodness gracious.

I tried them. Meh, IMO. I think I've tried every Middle Eastern restaurant in MKE.

Kabob hub in Riverwest is my favorite. Complete hole in the wall. Across from The Foundation.

I wrote an op-ed regarding climate change for the Kenosha News today. Pretty happy with how it turned out. I will try incorporating Independence Day or Starship Troopers quotes into the next one.

Yeah, so the miso ramen was among the 5 best things I've ever eaten. And I'm not exaggerating. Just fantastic.

My daughter loved her sushi as well. We had 3 pieces of nagiri each, my ramen, and a roll for her and it was 48 bucks. I almost felt bad paying that little.

5 stars out of 5 and I'm usually a prick when it comes to restaurants.
