Ironically in that worse case situation they could pitch a max deal and coming home to DeMar DeRozan.

That would be a flat out nightmare for Lakers fans.

Players are smart and know that being a free agent is great for your brand . It benefits AD to have everyone talking about him all season saying “is he gonna stay?” and photoshopping him into Knicks jerseys etc , all of that speculation keeps his name in the news cycle

If he’s worried about the Lakers FO this gives him more power throughout the season.

It can also be very stressful on your teammates and team chemistry if a player who is a major piece does this. I mean it had its effects on the Warriors last year - Boston too. And it took its toll on the post championship Cavs that’s for sure.

he's also said thing that when you read between the lines, make it seems like he has no desire to leave whatsoever...

this is called leverage and negotiation

AD must wait to see how the chemistry is on the team. Everyone knows how Lebron James can be towards his teammates.
AD won't tolerate any nonsense!

He’s getting a max, what’s the negotiation?

I dont know why people feel the need to try to force players to give up all of their options and play all of their cards.

Of course AD isnt committing now. It doesn't mean he doesn't want to be a Laker or wont re-sign. It just means he has no motivation to make that decision now.

Lakers will be delighted to get as far as the Warriors did last year, no matter how much stress is involved.

He said he wanted to be there.
As long as they dont treat him as a 2nd class citizen like durant in GS then i dont see why he want to leave his handpicked destination.

What if he discovers that he simply dislikes Lebron?

Paul will sign 1 and 1’s for as long as possible to ensure Klutch continues to run the Lakers

Nobody is going to sign a contract that depends on LeBron being there, duh.

These reporters are extremely dumb. Do they not have any questions to ask? You don't ask someone who hasn't had 1 practice in or even a preseason game in if he is going to commit.

I think you care. As a diehard Lakers fan, of course.

It seems like he should be happy with the Lakers, but if he doesn't like playing with LeBron or anything about the situation... he holds all the cards.

Lol at not enjoying playing with Lebron...... he signed with his agency and demanded a trade to his team.

This is about power. Lebron doesn’t have it anymore, so it’s up to AD to give Klutch the leverage.

Smart move, because you just never know when your grandpa is going to pass away and you want to go home.
