When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

If we could give Lowry something like 2 years 30m or 3 years 40m that would be perfect. This will give Lowry security until he's 35-36 years old and ensure his legacy with the team.
He will be 34 next off-season and he would get that legacy contract, and be a great veteran to our young guys going forward.

Re: 2019 Official Media Day & Training Camp Thread (TODAY @ 10 AM)
Looks like Lowry's camp wants to be back and wants to retire here.
The issue most likely is the cost. Lowry + Gasol re-signing is something i'd be interested in, on 3 year contracts each.
Btw, this is the first year that it looks like we're open to playing guys and develop them since the whole "we the north" campaign begun. Good stuff.

Lowry is 33, declining, a good 20 pounds overweight and yet some dudes here want to lock him up for 3 more years. Thank God for Masai.

Re: 2019 Official Media Day & Training Camp Thread (TODAY @ 10 AM)
Lowry does look like he put on weight. But he did admit in the interview today that he isnt where he wants to be physically because of the surgery he had. And that hes about a month behind everyone else in terms of where he wants to be. Another interesting thing he said was that hes gonna "slow roll" the season this year. That he's not gonna go "balls to the wall" right out of the gate when the season starts. That hes gonna take things easy for the first few months before ramping things up again in time for the playoffs.
That being said, i think people will need to temper their expectations this year for Lowry. He's not gonna average 20 points 10 assists right out of the gate. Looks like hes intentionally planning to take a backseat to all the young guys this year, let them do all the heavy lifting in the regular season and then flip the switch a month or two before the playoffs.

I feel like now that the monkey is off of lowrys back in terms of winning a championship he's no longer gonna have the yips or long shooting slumps.

Re: 2019 Official Media Day & Training Camp Thread (TODAY @ 10 AM)
i told you guys
fred
lowry
siakam
serge
gasol
is gonna be the closing lineup and we'll see a lot of it.
the important thing this season is gonna be seeing who among the rest of the bench mob is gonna step up. stanley? matt? terrence davis? boucher? mccaw? there's gonna be lots of minutes/roles to be earned there.
this training camp/exhibition gonna be very big for us because we need our depth to be a strength without kawhi.
more than anything, we need og and norm to take steps to becoming average to above-average starter level players that will consistently contribute. no more disappearing acts.

I dont think so. Teams usually go small to close, and Ibaka/Gasol combo isnt going to punish teams for going small often enough. I legit think RHJ's defensive versatility/ball handling/playmaking ability will make it's way into the closing lineup if he's able to become just decent enough of a spacer

I was just listening to the Dunc'ed on season preview of the Raps and they talked a bunch about the Raps going hard in the regular season this year because we're going to be a high 40s win team, but the East currently looks like Milwaukee and Philly well ahead and then a whack of similarly talented teams in the Raptors, Celtics, Pacers, Magic, Nets and Heat expected to make the playoffs, so I think as long as we're in the top 4 of those 6 2nd tier teams we would be in the 3/4/5/6 seed and avoiding the big 2 in the first round, so resting the older guys like Gasol and Lowry after a long season seems fine to me. Oladipo is hurt, the Magic might just be a 44 win team and the Heat and Nets and even the Celtics are wildcards after adding new #1 options on offense and losing multiple core pieces.
TLDR: If Embiid is healthy and Philly is a juggernaut, we shouldn't kill ourselves in the regular season as long as we can finish in the top 4 out of the 6 other East playoffs teams it's only a game 7 being road in the first round as prize, seems high risk to low reward.
Where's the D?

lmfao hell no. it'll be completely fine.
rhj is a liability completely. guys with zero shooting are a minus and his defense/in-between game isn't near good enough to make up for that. the less rhj, the better. he might be a good guy in the locker room but he's a small ball center in a wing's body.

He's lifting a heavy trophy on that pic and flexing. In the photo shoot where he's dribbling, he's looking great. Better that the last two season. He said he's not where he wants to be yet so he may be gunning for his 2016 bod.

Good one... But I think Nurse is going to be all about Pascal taking that role.
Pskills is going to be our batman (Klaw). If OG, Norm or anyone else steps up and takes the Robin role we doing just fine.
But that said, I loved hearing Nurse saying OG looking good. He really does have the most potential of anyone not named Pascal to take a big leap this year.

Not necessarily. We played extra big vs the Warriors plenty of times. If you have a competent big who can space the floor and has great defensesive anticipation like Marc, they'll be fine.
