Wickman DFA'd...

Post#1 » by Nemesis21 » Fri Aug 24, 2007 10:07 pm

The Braves DFA'd closer Bob Wickman today :o . Soriano will probably fill the void of Bob's DFA.
I know he's been off lately, but at the Ted he's nasty with an era under 1.00

This is surprising since we don't have an abundent of bullpen arms. However, it all expediates the process that would have taken place this off-season.

He was causing Internal problems making it clear that he didnt want to pitch in anything other then Save situations.

I don't know what happened to Wickman this year. Maybe age is starting to take his toll, because he has been a big disappointment all season long.

But still, considering our entire bullpen is shaky, we kind of need the extra arm (which just goes to how desperate and also crappy our bullpen is).

I am kind of glad they got rid of Wickman. He just would not get the job done when the Braves would go to him in the 9th inning. Wickman had 15 blown saves this year and 20 saves with an ERA of 3.92. He is past his prime and at the down fall of his career.
