I think that was the most impressive. Under control, leadership, confidence all shined through in his first start

That and the accuracy. If you showed me the pocket stats alone after the game, I would have assumed that DJ was spraying it all over the place.

I think through college he could always put it where he needed to be just had so many drops and WR not in right place that hurt him.

What jumped out was obviously his athleticism (I knew he could move but for a guy his size) he’s sneaky fast too. Caught a few bucs out of position thinking they could close the gap but couldn’t.

Also a knock pre draft was his arm strength. My initial thoughts is wtf were people watching. Dude throws a beautiful deep ball! He also takes enough chances which truly was Eli downfall in that he didn’t trust the o-line anymore and would let plays develop. Eli always would check down before letting play develop maybe it’s that DJ is young and willing to take a hit but dude stayed strong in the pocket under some big pressure all game.

I feel like the Knicks are gonna be similar to the Giants. They will suck, but will have optimism with the young guys.

RJ and DJ gonna take over NY.

Jones with 2 into’s and here comes Haskins. They will fabricate this rivalry for the next 15 years.

Daniel Jones not a bad game could of been better but the Giants are winning all around. The QB change really rejuvenated the team. Have to see us beat a good team first though.

Early knee-jerk reaction:
We were ALL wrong. Haskins has looked awful and Daniel Jones was the correct pick.

Gonna be really tough next week against the Vikings, its all part of the process though. At least it will be at home and we got Golden Tate back.

Then on the road @Patriots the following week—Danny D vs Tommy B

I personally didn't think any of the QB's was worth that high of a pick but Jones proving me wrong. However, haskins wasn't that guy. Below was my quote at the time of the draft. If we were going QB Jones was the best of the bunch. All these "so called" experts really thought Haskins who played with 3 big time WR and a stud O-line was better just because he put up better stats is ridiculous. Jones got penalized for playing with complete dog sh*t players at Duke...unfair but glad our organization look beyond that.

oh don't get me wrong. Daniel Jones was the QB I was most ok with out of the QB's. I had him higher than Haskins. I just didn't truly love any of these QB's and much rather would have waited a year for the Tua/Fromm/Herbert class. Stock up on defense this year and go into next year and get your QB.

I didn't think Murray was an option so outside of Jones, Haskins, Lock...I think we got the best one. I just didn't think any QB in this class was worth a top 10-15 pick considering it was a defensive heavy draft.

I was right who the best QB was...but ideally I was hoping we could get him at 17 so we could get our pass rusher at 6...but you know what DG (who I have been tough on) had conviction and got his guy. Well done and now we look to be set for the next 10-15 years.

Props! One other thing is Gettleman has now laid the groundwork to justify the Barkley pick.

He now has a foundation RB and QB in successive drafts. No more second-guessing either selection and now we can focus on shoring up the defense and getting a big time playmaker at WR in the coming drafts.

Best part was Jones throwing those 2 INTs and not letting it bother him. Very Eli like. These next 2 games against Minnesota and New England will be a great learning lesson for this kid. Getting Tate back should help. I wish we would sign a veteran RB like CJ Anderson or Ajayi.

Kudos to the defense, especially Jack Rabbit, for bouncing back. Losing Connelly stinks! Kid was showing a lot of potential and making an impact. We're likely to sign some LBs this week.

Same. I remember going back and forth with you on draft night. I was seeing red from passing up on Josh Allen, because I thought DJ would be there at 17, but I wanted no parts of Haskins.

It's too early to call the kid's career, but I'm very comfortable saying Getty made the right choice for the NY Giants.
