Would love to pull up some of the stuff that was said about management when we gave up studs in Romano and Bergen in the Rule 5 for nothing.

UNINTERRUPTED
Published on Aug 19, 2019
Bo Bichette of the Toronto Blue Jays is a rookie shortstop who has already added his name to the record books. The 21-year-old is the hottest young player in baseball. Go behind the scenes as UNINTERRUPTED Canada follows the young slugger during his first day in the big leagues and sits down with him and his father, Dante Bichette, a 14-year MLB veteran. #WelcomeToTheBoShow

Jus for fun: ESPN lists Joe Carter's homer as the Blue Jays' #1 "Home Run Achievement". Maybe,, but I'd be tempted to say The Jays' league record for most home runs in a game by a team : 10. (Wonder what the ball was like in 1987..)

The Jays have the 2nd most improved defense from the 2018 to 2019 based on DRS (Defensive Runs Saved).
1. Phillies:
2018: -142 DRS (3oth)
2019: 12 DRS (15th)
Differential: +154 runs
2. Jays:
2018: -100 DRS (29th overall)
2019: -1 DRS (18th overall)
Differential: +99 runs

Ratlol.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Buck and Dan are a good combo, as Buck is better as an analyst. It's time for Tabby to move on.

I was at this game. Caught one of the Whitt homers (off a few bounces). I was 10 and it was the highlight of my life at the time.

Re: General Blue Jays Thread, 2019
“Right when it happened, I didn’t really feel anything. I felt completely fine,” Bichette said. “I ran from first to third right after, and then I made a play in the field. I think that with everything I did, a little bit more, it felt a little off. Then, when I went out to my at-bat, I felt really weird in the box.”
Huffman put Bichette through a lengthy initial evaluation to establish his baselines, and he will continue to be tested every day. Huffman noted that Bichette is improving, and he feels the same, but there are still plenty of hurdles to clear before he can return to the field.

Isn’t a 50m free agent contract the point where you have to give up draft picks to sign a free agent?
If so, what free agent sp could be signed for 3 year 49m contracts?
I’d love to see us sign 3 sp.
Wheeler
Odorizzi
Bumgarner
Would be best potential options. Do we feel teams would beat 3/49 and give compensation for them ? Which pitchers do we think will be offered the (about ) 1/ 18 contract?

There is no way the Jays are going to spend big money on a starter - a decent veteran, sure, but not a big ticket. That's not how to build a team. I can more likely see a run at a decent centre fielder, because organizationally, there is nothing available in the minors next season for the outfield that moves the needle beyond where it has been - low OBP guys, with poor strike zone recognition and high K rates. If Shoemaker is healthy, he's worth another look, as is Ryan Borucki. So find one more solid if unexciting vet starter and ride with that until Pearson and other prospects change the look entirely. The fact also is that a lot of top free agents don't want to be a part of a rebuild. Dallas Keuchel said the other day he could have signed for more money than he's getting from the Braves, but he wanted to be on a contender. I suspect he's far from alone on that score.
The bullpen and defence need more work to support a young starting pitching staff. The organization is clearly committed to Vlad at 3B for the near term, but we can't tolerate the kind of stumblebum defence this outfield provides - go get a veteran outfielder with good D and a little offensive pop, who is young enough (say 27/28) until this organization can beef up the prospect portfolio with a stud outfielder or two.
2019 will never be forgotten because FLAGS FLY FOREVER
