Bucks News, Trades, Transactions - CP3/Gallo trade idea pg.81

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Sep 30, 2019 5:32 pm

With camp opening and the first preseason game just a week away I closed down the off season thread.

Open scrimmage is Sunday at 2. It's free but y I u need to download a ticket.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Sterling Brown's weight loss has continued this summer.

Brook congratulating the reporters on their questions is great.

I hate to be that guy, but anyone else uneasy about Giannis’ response to the question about his contract?

Just that he isn't going to talk about it much, about what he is going to do. It wouldn't be fair to his teammates because they are all focused on winning and not where he will be

It was fine, nothing worrisome.
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

And I guarantee he's been instructed to say just that. Doesn't worry me at all. It's going to be an agonizing year with rumors and speculation and a million questions. I will ignore it as best as I can as I feel we've made the right moves for him.

Basically, that he doesn’t want to talk about it because it would be disrespectful to his teammates to talk about what he’s going to do.

Granted, I think he meant it would be disrespectful to his team to allow the focus to come off of winning the championship, but it wasn’t a particularly comforting answer.

If you actually want to quell speculation, then being as non-commital as possible is about the last thing you want to do.

He doesn't want to make a commitment because he wants the Bucks to keep pushing and spending to keep him. If he commits they may rest on their laurels and not make a midseason trade that pushes them into the cap but also pushes them to win it all.

Re: Bucks News, Trades, Transactions - Media Day Today (Monday)

Post#16 » by EastSideBucksFan » Mon Sep 30, 2019 8:43 pm

Media day seemed especially vague and generic as ever, at least to me. Not much to really take away from it.

Giannis answer about free agency does not bother me at all. I would never expect him to make a commitment, today on media day, further than what he has already said on the topic. But, I can understand why some feel uneasy on his answer.

Giannis just seemed all business and not wanting to really talk about the championship questions. Thanasis was trying to keep his answers short. Giannis deflected a few to Thansis and just said "Agree" at the end of a few. Thansis seemed nervous, but not bad.

George Hill and Brook Lopez seem like the guys in the locker room to try and get others talking and to smile. Just had a different tone of personality that seemed different sitting there watching one after another. George dropping that he helped recruit Korver might've been the best offseason nugget of the day. Korver's jab about Cleveland's disorganization was an interesting one though.

Wes Matthews is exactly as advertised and looking to fill a role and fit in. DJ sounds like he's ready to hit the ground running this year. Donte says he's healthy. PatCon is going to do what you expect. Robin said he just tries to figure out how to help the other guys and put them in a position to succeed.

Everyone just seemed to emphasize it's a long year and to not get ahead of themselves with championship talk.

Yup if anything, Giannis seemed still pissed they blew it last year. Even though, like G.Hill said, it humbled them.
