Re: Political Roundtable Part XXVI
As I said way earlier in this thread, to the scorn and ridicule of Nate and other Trump co-conspirators, the GOP needs to be punished, punished, punished. No one currently in GOP office can credibly claim *not* to be tainted by this corrupt imbecile. We have to investigate every single GOP office holder, down to the state and county level. Those that don't go to jail must suffer humiliating electoral defeat. The people of the United States have to rise up and make a stand against treasonous politicians. The GOP as a party must *end.* Then the Dems can split into moderate and progressive factions if they want.

If that's what it takes. May be the only thing the GOP understands. Personally I can get my hands on a lot of rotten vegetables from my fridge pretty quickly.

For what it's worth a couple folks are throwing around the term treason of late.
Perhaps I've made this same mistake in the past myself. I want to point out
the term treason has a specific definition in the Constitution, which
makes it quite unique among crimes.
What people ought to be saying is the behavior is a betrayal (of the country).
The term traitor has 2 meanings, the first of which is what I imagine
we should be talking about.

Definition of traitor
1 : one who betrays another's trust or is false to an obligation or duty
2 : one who commits treason
A lot of what we call 'thought' is just mental activity
When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression
Those who are convinced of absurdities, can be convinced to commit atrocities

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXVI
Yeah the definition of treason says you have to help an enemy. Apparently according to the Constitution you're only considered an enemy if we've actually declared war against you? So it's pretty much impossible to commit treason now because we haven't actually declared war on anyone. We're not at war with Afghanistan - it's a war on "terror." We're not at War with Russia we just are unhappy with a few of their policy decisions, like annexing Crimea.

So Hunter Biden got paid $50,000 a month to serve on a Ukrainian Energy board, with absolutely no experience whatsoever in that industry.
Yup, no quid pro quo there. By the way, Hunter Biden is the democrat's version of Jared Kushner. A scummy, power-abusing, pampered **** that was given cushy 7-figure jobs just for being the child of an elite. The fact that the Democrats are trying to protect him says a lot about how corrupted and pathetic they are.
This video is spot on:

Why are you broadcasting Republican talking points? So you're a Trump fan now? Or are you actually a paid Russian troll?

Pointing out obvious quid pro is "a republican talking point" now? You're an embarrassment.
You know damn well if Trump Jr was getting paid $50,000 a month serving on a Russian energy board, you'd be crying bloody murder, you partisan hack.

The **** Trump did is like 10000x worse than anything Joe Biden did. You know this, but you're on your crusade and you'll carry water for Trump and spread a bunch of debunked garbage in the name of owning the Democrats. Good **** bro! Very cool posting!

Shaq's son Shareef O'Neal de-committed from Arizona after the FBI intercepted Arizona coach Sean Miller's phone calls discussing paying DeAndre Ayton. It's all very complicated and convoluted, but what you need to know is that Shaq should be fired from TNT and thrown in jail for treason.

Quid pro quo for *what*???? Getting paid $50k is the quid, ok. What is the quo? You're amazingly ignorant for someone who talks so much trash about how smart he is.
And Don Jr. IS GETTING PAID MUCH MORE THAN THAT NOW WORKING FOR A COMPANY THAT ILLEGALLY LINES TRUMP'S POCK...
OMG. Why even bother. It's like arguing with a muppet.

This is such a dumb talking point.
Does Biden Jr. gets this opportunity without his dad being who is? Probably not, and is it morally bankrupt for his son to accept the position despite the optics and ethical concerns, probably.
However, unless you can point to any credible proof of Biden Sr. wrong doing, Hunter Biden was influence peddling at worst, and while that could be considered morally bankrupt it is a socially accepted form of doing business.
The notion that any of this qualifies as quid pro quo is absurd, exactly what are you suggesting Biden Sr. delivered in order for his son to get that position?
Wouldn't it have made more sense for Joe Biden to be hands off with the prosecutor that stalled the investigation into his son's company than to demand his resignation?
Absent of facts, this is about as morally reprehensible as Trump hiring every Tom Dick and Jane in his family, but let's take it a step further.
Let's assume there is some meat to this story, why did this administration pursue this in secret?
Why wasn't the state department involved in this corruption probe, why didn't they have the Trump appointed FBI director investigate?
This administration has yet to provide any credible explanation for their fishing expedition. They haven't provided any credible response to the withholding of funds approved by congress, no explanation on whose behest the presidents private attorney engaged in any of these activities
Are we supposed to believe in this deep state conspiracy theory? Is it the deep state that blocked probes into Biden's corrupt dealings back then and that has waited until now to push its Trump agenda with the whistle blower?

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXVI
Trump and the current state of the GOP is just the culmination of what we saw take hold leading up to the Lewinski affair, worked itself into a fever pitch under Obama and has now reached peak crazy under this administration.
A few things Obama said during a keynote here at a conference I attended on Sunday resonated with me on that subject.
With all the challenges and problems the US is facing, whether you're lesbian, straight, gay, black, white, green whatever, if given the choice to pick any time period to be born in you would undoubtedly pick today.
This country has never been safer, more prosperous, and more educated than it is today.
To buy into what the GOP is peddling you basically have to accept an alternate reality.
Very few, if any of their policies stand up to scrutiny or represent what's truly in the best interest of the people.
Fake news, alternate facts, truth isn't truth, various boogeymen lurking around every corner, mass "baby killings", gun rights, it's all bull.
This is a party that will have you believe that environmentalism is anti-American and that it's our patriotic duty to make sure that our waterways are polluted in the pursuit of profit for **** sake, how absurd is that?
In a moment of weakness Hillary was at her most honest, deplorables, the whole lot of them.

TGW is proven that he’s a hack. First it was I can’t vote for Hillary because she’s “corrupt”. Then goes onto Biden is “corrupt”. Pretty soon it will be Elizabeth Warren is not a real Liberal. The reality is that he’s a Bernie cultist that can’t stand the fact that Bernie hasn’t really separated himself from the rest of the pack but he’ll gladly tear down every other candidate if Bernie can’t win. Perfect example of putting a shot gun up your nose to spite your face.

I don't think he's made one post about these Trump bombshells....
President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Even Trump's advisers told him over and over again that Joe Biden did absolutely nothing wrong here. His kid's probably an opportunist using his father's name and reputation to make money... much like the Trump kids... but who the hell cares? To basically bribe a foreign government to investigate that... is so wrong on so many levels... it's beyond me how a person doesn't understand that.
