He's got Tayshaun Prince's legs and Dwight Howard's shoulders.

I don't think those are the new official heights yet. Let's wait till they're announced.

Yah these are all combine weights/heights from their rookie year with shoes on.

Expecting Smart to check in closer to 6’2 and Jaylen to check in closer to 6’5. Would guess Tatum is close to 6’8 barefoot.

So Tatum’s got a ways to go, I think you’d want him up around 220 ideally. See how he handles it.

Jonathan Isaac is up to 230 pounds, fwiw.

We need to get Tat on "the program".

You do relise it was said in jest? After your media day comment. Others can't feel underwhelmed about something Celtics related, at least on your watch.

Romeo Langford is likely 3rd String at this point, right?
We're going to have a Big Contingent up there in Maine.

Yeah, I don't expect anything from him this season. He was nothing special defensively in college and his shooting seems to be as bad as advertised. Really don't see what he can provide day 1 that could help Celtics win games.

I expect RWilliams type of treatment by Brad - some garbage minutes here and there, deep bench injury reserve. Basically a project.

Yeah. Good comparison.

Also, rule of thumb for me - never trust a man named Romeo. I hope I'm wrong too.

I hated the Young pick. Loved the Romeo pick.

They are similar in the sense that they were both highly ranked in high school and both got drafted in the mid first after up and down freshman seasons.

But Young had way more red flags. A poor man defender who showed below average quickness. Could not dribble or finish with his off-hand. Straight line driver whose main weapons were his spot up J and an awkward runner. Very little ball-handling and playmaking.

His defense and lack of handle made me very pessimistic on him - his main asset was his extreme youth and excellent length, plus the form on his spot-up jumper.

Langford is a much more skilled player with significantly better physical tools. Wings who can handle, score and defend their position rarely flame out to the extent that slow, one dimensional guys like Young do. Even the knuckleheads like Lance Stephenson and JR Smith fared better than the better behaved slow shooters like Xavier Henry.

Of course he could flame out too, but I think his odds are significantly better than Young's.

I confess - my gripe with Romeo isn't on his skillset. This kid has many skills that come naturally to him. My fear was that the kid was too laid back. His smoothness out on the court, along with the sleepy eyes led me to believe he might not be the hardest worker.

However, after having read some more articles on him, those concerns have been addressed. Apparently, the kid was very competitive during practices in Indiana, going right at some of the seniors.

He will have a better career than that idiot, James Young. Lol

Damn, most of our team's guys look shredded. I need to get back to the gym(awesome to see everybody's been working hard). :D
Good assessment:

Wasn't gonna post the vid, but yeh there's a strange hitch going on at the end me no likey.

Looks like the thumb flick is still there.

The proof will be in the pudding.

He still has some hick ups in his shooting form, but it does look a lot more pure than before. LOT more. His shot looked broken in college. Now the form is pretty decent. He's progressing, which is a positive sign.

He'll come back looking like a Hulk. In all fairness Jayson is smaller but he does have a similar body type to Giannis, wide shoulders, kinda skinny legs. If he gets on the bicycle, he will look like a bodybuilder. :D

His release is quicker than when he first came into the league, no?

Read on Twitter

• Stevens making the team do things together outside of main practice -- shooting, lifting weights, etc.
• Langford (groin) not yet participating in 5-on-5 scrimmages/full contact
• Tatum wins another shooting contest
• Arson Carsen hitting a bunch of shots in scrimmages
• Brad in full lineup experimentation mode the next three weeks

I'm hyped for Edwards. Think he's going to be a son of a gun.

Hey I don't always backseat mod, but when I do, I suggest we slightly rename this thread? "Training Camp thread 2019-20"?

Everyone's improved, everyone will surprise, chemistry is through the roof, only smiles and good vibes blah blah... Just like last year and every year before that. Let's hope "It's just a pre-season" meme doesn't live on.

That was the thing with last year's team though -- they sucked right out of the gate, and we all (mostly) 'just pre-season'd' it for months, mirroring the team's malaise.

If this team wants to be different/better, it can be. Team "Fresh Start". It may or may not pan out (our roster's still not properly balanced), but might as well root for a different outcome.

Correction, they were amazing for the first quarter of pre-season game 1. I was there with my wife and 6 month old boy and said, “You’re witnessing the start of something special”. They closed that quarter out 37 to 20 then ended up losing anyway.

BOY was I wrong. But was a little glimpse into the season.

But that’s behind us, very excited for this season to start. On the good vibes train.

At times, they seemed like they could have been great...like they SHOULD have been...and to me, that was the most frustrating thing of all.

Im not a great basketball mind, but i feel like i can usually at least formulate a reasonable theory about what’s happening on a ball court(some might disagree).

Im still not exactly sure why we sucked. Lots of little things, sure...and kyrie choked against the bucks and is an easy scapegoat...but despite him being kyrie irving...unpopular opinion coming...he was good at ball during the regular season

In the beginning it seemed to me everyone had the right attitude and really had a positive mindset, geological theories aside.

But i guess in the end, the easy answer is i was wrong and we just werent that good. Kyrie irving is always gonna be a good robin, gordo was broke, and the youngsters(all of whom i like) just werent ready
