Not that I like him, but Kanter's Portland eliminated 2nd seed in the West in 7. Hope Randle will put similar performances (especially on Boston against Kanter in early fixture) but with his D he is hardly a winning player. Barring an injury, i dont see him starting on a playoff team (any given day I'd take him over Kanter probably not with that bloated contract).

Frank starting or not I don’t think we are a very good team regardless. But gun to my head frank is a better shooter than DSJ.

But one thing I do know is we would be a significantly better defensive team which might be able to make up for some our lack of shooting. Being a bad defensive team along with shooting not being a strong suit doesn’t bode well for the team.

Maybe Top-10 is a reach but at least we would have a defense, I can live with that. (Though it is a bit scary that Mitch may end up with the highest 3P% among them, with or without Frank.)

DSJ can play D too don’t sleep. Knicks defensive rating improved by 8.4 points with him on the court.

Anyways I just posted that just to fk with you lol. I wanna see Frank and DSJ ball out together. They can be a really nice duo.

Agreed. Top 10 over the sample size of a season probably is a reach, though Frank and KP was far and away the #1 defense in the league when playing together, so maybe not. I think Frank and Mitch could replicate that.

I think it is a very safe bet that we would be in the top half of the league though with Frank guarding the 1 and Mitch protecting the rim.

I think the dynamic of being able to nearly switch every screen in any scenario makes you a much better defense. Certain times you have to switch and having a lineup where you can do that 1-5 brings another element to a defense. It’s why when frank is paired next to a mobile 5 guy like KP/Mitch you usually get top defensive results.
