Accurate Player Heights Predictions

Post#1 » by Scubetrolis » Wed Oct 2, 2019 4:22 pm

So now that we will have accurate player heights in a few days, post a few predictions:

Zion: 6’5
Chris Paul: 5’10

I am fully expecting the number of 7 footers in the league to drop.

My prediction: Players and teams are going to find a way to cheat the system and continue lying about their heights

I would bet my laptop that KD is over 7 feet tall and that he won't be listed at 7 feet when the player height numbers come out

Dude, porzingis was 7’1.25 in socks and he’s massively taller than Durant. Durant is not over 7’ withoht some seriously lifted heels.

I wouldn't be shocked if KD ends up just being 6'10.5". I think for so long KD has been compared to other "7 footers" and they go, "well he is as tall as them so he must be 7 feet as well." But those 7 footers heights have probably been exaggerated and those guys are really just 6'10.

Chris Paul was 5’11.75 in socks.

Zion was 6’5.5 the last time we got a no shoe measurement (he was 17 I believe)

Not sure if they are rounding these. I’d say put the halfs and quarters on the official listing

My laptop isn't worth that much anyways. Originally I wrote that I would bet my house but I changed it to laptop because I realized I wasn't that confident

He measured at 5'10" which feels really really generous still. Even his quotes afterword make it seem like he knows he got away with something.

Have the Mavs posted their heights?

EDIT: Just found an article that said Kristaps is 7'2".75 and Boban is 7'3.5. Add 1.25 inches for shoes and Kristaps is 7'4 and Boban is basically 7'5.

How can you talk about accurate when you have played measured 6'1 and 1/2'' and for good looks you round it up to 6'2? The whole American height system will never be accurate.

Durant: 6'10.5

I don't think he's going to be as tall as everyone expects. You see him with other "7 footers" and he's around the same height but those 7 footers are only 7 feet tall in shoes.

Barea: 5'10.5
Love: 6'7.5
Zion: 6'5.75
LeBron: 6'7.75
Westbrook: 6'3.25
Davis: 6'10.25
Giannis: 6'10.75

A lot of "Accurate" heights are already known because most players were measured at the combine with and without shoes. The only change is that the NBA will start listing their actual heights as what they measured w/o shoes, and not what the players told their college media guide to list them at

Chris Paul already measured at 5' 11.75'' without shoes when he was 20. He's likely close to that now. His listed height is actually very close to what he measured at the combine.
https://stats.nba.com/draft/combine-anthro/#!?SeasonYear=2005-06

Corey Brewer measured at 6'6" at the combine and 6'7.75" with shoes at the combine. So how the hell is he listed at 6'9"? He's listed at 6'9" most likely because that's what he told the media people at the University of Florida to list him at. Same with Jason Collins telling Stanford to list him at 7' because that's simply what he wanted to be listed as, and that information carried over into his NBA career....despite the fact that he was nowhere near 7' tall.

Zion is a mystery because he wasn't measured, but most people are guessing he'll be somewhere around 6'6" w/o shoes.

Again, the NBA isn't doing anything magical here. They're simply going to list heights as measured w/o shoes instead of listing it as what the player's college media guide has them listed at.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.
