Mccaw does a lot of good things he deflects, runs hard, fills gaps, looks to pass and makes some good passing plays, can hip a spotty 3

If he Nothing but a little competition for TDjr its a win

Interesting tidbit from this interview, Davis said the Raptors intend to develop him as a point gaurd.

I can see it, he would a bigger sized PG and at summer league I thought he had the handles and playmaking flashes to play some 1 right away

That's the smart thing to do and I'm not surprised Davis makes sense as a combo guard/pg

It's unlikely we keep both Kyle and VV so they gettin him ready

I can definitely see Mccaw making a big leap this year.

No one else on this seam has the physical tools he has. The quickness, spending, ball handling, size. length. He just needs to put it all together.

I would want him to just be more aggressive on offense in general he’s passive to the point where it’s a negative on that end, maybe training camp will help him get more comfortable with it.

I’d be keeping an eye his playmaking and driving this season. Pretty much should try to be what Delon was.

Wasn't McCaw a point guard in HS or College? I'd like to see him run more pick and roll this year. Dude's fast af.

Yeah he ran point in college was pretty decent too iirc

He should be able to run PnR but since teams are gonna say he has to be more aggressive or be a better shooter to make up for it

I think Toronto realized what they were getting into with McCaw. It is obvious he is a very smart basketball player who came to Toronto mid-way through the season, and without a role that really defined for him.

He did play passively, almost to a fault, but his intangibles show that he is a coaches' son. I think he really showed most on defense, and with his size, good passing ability, it make him a nice fit for likely playing multiple positions.

As a PG is where I thought it makes the most sense with him. He has speed from both a stand-still or while in motion. I think if Fred moves up on occasion to start with Lowry then Pat will be the back-up PG.

I mean his first couple years Golden State really liked him and invested time with him. He then lost his spot to Nick Young, then got hurt by a VC hard foul, sat out almost a year and then last year he had a death in his family (older brother). Like OG, the talent is there, just need things to kind of settle down off the court and while on, figure out his role and give him steady minutes.

Yeah but that was just to ensure the Raptors win championships the next 2 years.

Looking at the first 10ish games of the season, one takeaway is that we play a lot of teams with reshuffled rosters. This could give the Raptors an advantage by playing teams before they’ve figured it out.
We lost DG and Kawhi which is huge but the rest of the team is intact an healthy.
OG coming back healthy won’t replace what we lost but he knows how to win.
OG, TD and Konate are my players to watch this season.

In 2 years Kawhi will be trying to get McCaw to the Cripples.

Nick Nurse said some interesting things regarding the rotation today (Bolded stuff I found particularly interesting)

McCaw

“Pat, to me, is part of the group. He is part of the eight guys I would say, ‘Don’t be surprised if he runs out there as a starter,'” Nurse said. “I mean, listen, he plays, he’s got speed, guys love playing with him, he can direct-line drive it. His shooting looks like it has improved a lot, but you never really know until the lights come on with that stuff. To me I feel good about throwing him out there as a starter, so that’s a pretty high spot for him to be in I would say.”

TD at PG

“I have tried to exclusively play him at the one here. I think he’s kind of more comfortable at two but I want to see what he looks like as a one because I just like his speed with the ball,” Nurse said. “But it doesn’t really matter. There is a package of talent there. There is some strength, there’s some speed, some defensive ability, some toughness, some shooting. There is a lot of stuff there. Now we’ve just got to mold it and shape it to fit a role that fits us. Like, he has to learn how to play defence like we want him to. He has to learn what rhythm shots he’s going to take and then again limit his mistakes. When you’re a role player that is what you have to do. Just go in there and hold the line a little bit so you don’t make mistakes and fit in.”

Filling in for Danny/Kawhi

“Probably, just because of need. I think the gap right now is in the two-three hole, losing Danny (Green) and Kawhi (Leonard), right? Where do we plug it from?” Nurse said. “Obviously we plug it from bumping Kyle (Lowry) up, and Norm (Powell) will sit in the two-three and OG (Anunoby) will probably play two and three, and maybe bumping Pascal down. Last year I was trying to open up those four minutes for guys like Pascal and OG, well, now we’re trying to fill those three minutes.”

I really like trying TD at the 1. The worst-case scenario is we move him to the 2.

He's absolutely in the 1st video and yes he was 4 for 4.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….
