We have to take in consideration that Curry choked yes and he was much more big game ready in 2019 than he was in 2016.

Kawhi got carried in the finals. Got out scored by Lowry and Siakam in game 6, and VanVleet had 22.

Kawhi PPG: 28.5
Siakam PPG: 19.8

Lebron PPG: 29.7
Irving PPG: 27.1

Looks like Lebron was the one who was carried when comparing them.

Cavs are down 1-3 and than Irving scores 41 points on 82% TS! Kawhi didn't have a superstar like that, not a chance.

Yes, the refs gifted him an extraordinary number of free throws. He shot 43% from the field and 36% from 3. Legendary.

He scored 732 points on 62% TS and played against 3 elite defensive teams (Orlando was elite after allstar break and Embiid was an elite anchor in the playoffs paired with Butler as well).

Lebron on the other hand was able to rest all playoffs until he finally took his head out of his ass when down 1-3 in the finals, how sweet.

Cavaliers beating the 73 win Warriors in the finals was something else.

But I think people are discounting how good the Sixers / Bucks were last year. Raptors championship is also historic for me.

And people are overrating the whole 73 win thing. 2007 Mavs had 67 wins and their 2nd best player Josh Howard only played 69 games. I don't see anybody giving a **** about Warriors eliminating them.

Don't get into a scoring argument with Lebron against Kawhi, Lebron is always taking the L there.

Why even write that, do you think that would garner you any credibility as a rational poster?

They beat a team without their 1st and 3rd best player in the finals. Literally nobody thinks they would beat a healthy warriors team. I can't think of a team who had more favorable circumstances in any finals of the last 20+ years.

jason bourne wrote:The Warriors winning the 2019 NBA title would have been the most impressive in that they had KD out with a calf injury and then go down with the devastating achilles tear when he came back for game 5. That was a must win situation because they were down 3-1. Then Klay Thompson tore his ACL in game 6. The Warriors were able to prolong elimination by winning game 5. The loss for the Warriors in game 6 was the decider. I think if they won game 6, then they could have won game 7 had Klay not go down. Game 6 was close at 114 - 110 and at Oracle.

To answer your question, I think Cavs victory was more impressive because they were the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit and finish with three consecutive wins when Warriors had home court advantage. To be fair, I might feel different had Klay not get injured and we went back for game 7 in Canada.

perhaps Curry shouldnt have choked with 6-17 fg 3-11 3pts in game 6. he also choked vs CLE in game 7 2016 6-19 fg 4-14 3pt. Both were close games. But hey lets pretend Curry is some all time great who doesnt dissapear in the NBA finals he just choked away 2 championships and has zero FMVP's

Are we talking about a first round series compared to the NBA Finals? Were the Mavs ahead 3-1?

Everybody talks about a 73-9 team but fail to mention they were about to lose against OKC too. They weren't that good tbh.

Absolutely not. Lol. That was the original Curry era team, healthy, loaded with depth, and at their best.

Just like the Raps were gonna get smoked by Philly. Then we were going to get smoked by the Bucks. And then...

I think the Warriors win that series? But smoked? Nah.

Why would you even answer a guy that says “if GSW had Klay”. You know the guy didn’t watch one minute of it.

Raps road to the Finals was more impressive but Cavs coming back from 3-1 was legendary even if they needed a little push with the Draymond suspension and the Bogut injury. What made the 2019 Finals anticlimactic was the fact that the close out game was in favor of the Warriors until Klay got injured

but Kawhi Leonard

For once, you have an argument that I just can't counter.

Fun fact: Game 7 vs 76ers (an east team better than any east team that 2016 Lebron faced) the raptors had an over 5 minute stretch in the 4th quarter when nobody scored besides Kawhi Leonard.

dude the claims about who the raptors faced as hands down "better" opponents is **** unless of course the regular season actually doesnt matter like you are also claiming.
the truth is you are buthurt you wont get a chance at a clean ring since your rental mvp is gone ...yet the reality is the Raptors as well as they played might have been a champion without him due to gsw injuries and if you dont agree with that then your argument about klay abd kd being out isnt a * is hshitx2

This is something many fail to mention...the Raptors easily had the hardest path in the Eastern Conference to the finals in the past decade.

Most years Lebron had some of the easiest playoff opponents in the East that I've ever seen in NBA history.

Lebron's most difficult era was in the late 2000s when the East had the Pistons, the Celtics and the Magic.

His biggest competition from 2010-2018 was the old ass Celtics, the 2011 Bulls, the 2014 Pacers, the 2016 Raptors and the 2018 Celtics without Kyrie.

Compare that to teams in the West...some years the Spurs in just one playoffs had to go through the Mavericks, Golden State and OKC, just to get to the finals.

Yeah pretty much this. I despise the Raps and we are all aware of why they are champs but I'd be annoyed at this point just let them have it.

The Cavs and Mavs titles in my lifetime were easily the most impressive given nobody even gave them a silver of hope to win. At least TOR had hope given what GS was dealing with.

Mavericks I agree with, but the Cavaliers chip was still overrated.

The impressive part was coming back from a 3-1 deficit, but the Cavs put themselves in that whole. People never mention how incredibly talented the Cavaliers were, with Lebron in his prime, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, Frye, Shumpert, Delly, Thompson, Jefferson etc.

Cavaliers were also the favorite to win the title before the season - everyone forgets this.

Drygon wrote:Obviously, they have rightfully earned their respective NBA Championship.

However, not every trophy are created equal.

I mean, Raptors has the hardest East playoff-run for decades.

- They eliminated Orlando Magic team with #1 defense in entire NBA post All-Star break. They even has the best record in the East during same period (17-8), behind only the Bucks and equal with the Raptors.

- They eliminated Philadelphia 76ers with 4 All-Star caliber players, lead by perhaps NBA's best center in Joel Embiid.

- They eliminated Milwaukee Bucks, lead by future MVP-winner & runner-up DPOY in Giannis alongside with future COTY-winner in Mike Budenholzer.

- They eliminated the reigning champs Golden State Warriors who have previously reached 5 straight NBA & won 3 titles in the 2010s.

Obviously, people is gonna use "Cavs returned from 1-3 deficit" argument on why their NBA Championship is more valuable. However, it required a Draymond suspension, a Curry MCL injury, Iguodala with back spasm & Bogut getting ACL-injury in order for Cavaliers to win NBA Finals.

Yes, Klay Thompson missed Game 3 and suffered an torn ACL in Game 6 during NBA Finals 2019 but that's it. The KD-less Warriors are still contenders. But let's not ignore that Raptors also has injury issues due to Kawhi playing through a bum knee & Kyle Lowry with a broken thumb.

i dont actually think the raptors title is impressive and frankly have an * next to it

they were kind of gifted a title
