Re: 2020 NBA Draft
I wouldn't be too high on Vernon. What I've heard so far, slower feet than expected, jumper struggles when contested because it's so slow. He's the classic big that can dominate college, but doesn't translate to the NBA. I love that he is at Duke this year, but I don't see much NBA potential.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft
People on the ground tell me he will be a better player for us than WCJ but all have said he is not a good NBA prospect. One went so far to say he is not as good as pro prospect as Charles Bassey and might be a 4 year player.
Crazy for a NBA level talent. It will feel like J.J. Redick. I asked about all of our guys. Everyone is sky high on Tre. A lot love our wings and Marthew Hurt but for the NBA prospects. It's all about Jones and Moore in terms of this year.
Some people like Stanley long term in a 3 and D way.

I think Tre, Hurt and Moore are all 1st rounders and probably top20 picks

Re: 2020 NBA Draft
Vernon Carey reminds me of Greg Monroe. Lumbering, archaic lefties. I think he could find an NBA role, who knows how far down the track depending on how polished he is, but he's gonna have some deep flaws and struggle to be valuable at the next level. Even less high after hearing what you said, Duke.

Carey was never a 1 year guy, neither is Hurt IMO
Tre is for sure a top20 guy, possibly lotto depending on how his scoring progresses
outside Tre not really a big fan of the Duke guys this year for the NBA

Precious Achiuwa, Romeo Weems and Josh Green; to see what they could be at the next level.

Ya Duke isn't bringing any big time prospects this year. Ive heard that the early word on his jumper is that it looks a lot nicer and good results so far. Im looking for 35% from 3 and 80% from the line. If he can get to those numbers, I would feel good taking him top 20. Elite of the elite on the defensive end (not going to lie, Tre's defense is one of the things Im most looking forward to seeing this year again) and very smart playmaking. Tre with a solid 3pt shot is the perfect PG to plug into your team if you already have a ball dominant player that isn't a PG.

Duke4life831 I'm sure you agree with me that during the games Tre was hot from three, lasts years Duke team looked incredible.
Last year I had Tre #14 on my big board before he said he was staying in the draft. I probably would've moved him up too.
Last year he came across, to me, as a streaky three point shooter, who was an excelent defender, had good PG instincts (I didn't see them as elite or anything like that), he also seemed to have a very tight dribble and could dribble through most NCAA athletes pretty easily.
If that three point jumper comes around and he's consistenly around 40%+ all year idk how he wouldn't be a lotto pick.
I think Derrtick Fisher is a decent comp, maybe a better dribbler/athlete. Derrick Fisher is close to a lotto pick in just about any redraft.

I think two things had to go right when Duke looked unbeatable last year. Cam had to show up and RJ had to play within the team. If one of those things happened, Duke was really hard to beat, when both didn't happen Duke usually lost. Tre only had 3 games where he made multiple 3s in a game and only 1 game where he made more than 2. So I don't think he ever really got hot enough to know what Duke could've looked like with him cooking.
The reason I find it really hard to call Tre a lotto pick and this is coming from a massive Tyus and Tre fan. But I just don't see him as a difference maker or a guy with a high ceiling. I feel like teams are using their lotto picks in hopes to find a difference maker or a guy at least with the raw potential of maybe becoming that.
Tre just isn't that. Tre with a jumper is the perfect PG to pair with that difference maker. For instance I think he could be a great fit next with the Suns with Booker and Ayton, Bulls with Lavine and Lauri , Dallas with Luka and KP and so on.

So a Cory Joesph/Delon Wright comp is a good comp to you, right?

Maybe a better facilitating Beverley?

he's a way better defender than Bev, Bev is more show defensively than substance tbh.
this is probably just lazy but the best comp is just his bro, but better

Do you not remember Beverly locking up KD in round 1? The Clips took that series 6 games in large part because KD couldn't get his.

no, but I remember Bev holding and pushing and cutting Durants legs all series long...why do u think the dubs contacted the league
dont let the theatrics fool you, hes not that good of a defender...Tre's defense on the other hand is real

Sylla have more Siakam potential than Scottie Barnes?

I’m a big fan of your posts and I know you love Lewis but he hasn’t done anywhere near enough at this stage to be in the conversation for pick 1. Obviously that could change in college as he has great tools and competes harder than most players, but that hasn’t translated into him being a bonafide number 1 prospect at this stage.

Did anybody actually see the Memphis NZL game last night? I saw RJ's statline but was curious to see how he actually looked on the floor against NBA talent.

watch Lewis at Rucker Park and tell me who in this class is better at this point
it's still early obviously, but I'm sticking to it until proven otherwise.
