Re: Sixers Media Day/Training Camp
In my eyes:
- Josh Rich, Ben and Tobi looked good.
- Horford looks to be struggling, maybe he’s just getting used to our team or he’s not used to playing against quicker guys.
- Ben shot a ft that looked bad.
- Josh Rich sounds promising at PG. He has the tools to be a (dare i say) star guard in the league. It’s more of refining his skillset.
*dont overreact. Just basing it on 7 minutes of clip

They said Tobi and Al worked well on PnR. Defense can just switch it IMO.

Nice to see some scrimmage footage. Tobias looking smooth.
I know they're being precautious, but it's a bit concerning that Embiid isn't participating. Can't overlook the importance of getting familiarized with the new squad.

Isn’t it weird that he complements himself like that? It’s scary to add a jump shot to an already all star.....sounds a little arrogant....
You have to believe in yourself. After laying an egg for 2 season when it comes to shooting. I'd rather see an arrogant Ben when it comes to his shooting, than a passive Ben. I like the way he basically admitted he had not worked as hard on his shot in previous summers as he should have.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

So coming into day 3... and yet to see a single photo of second of video of anything close to Ben attempt to take a 3 in any highlights... either by a reporter of the 76ers.
The 76ers were nice enough tho to post this video of Ben with the ball in his hands open at the top of the key with 4 seconds left in the shot clock... and someone shouting "Shoot it Shoot it" and seeing Ben pass it off instead.

I think his handling ability is more "closeout attacking" quality as opposed to actually being able to create shots and reach a star level of production.

Re: Sixers Media Day/Training Camp
Doesn't this camp just seem different to all other camps in decades?
There are very positive signs in chemistry, Embiid weight/fitness/health, and Ben Simmons' seriousness about his need to shoot at the very least. Additionally, we have better depth than last year too.
This is the first preseason since 2002 when I personally feel like we have a true contending team on our hands. I think that we could be about to embark on a very special year.

True. He looks passive in those limited clips

Also a continuity with Ben, Biid and Tobi.
I dont really put much into these camps. No way you can infuse 1 month of prep work to 10 month of battle. I still can remember when Eddie Jordan tried to implement princeton offense and when we run it like its kindergarden offense in regular season.
It’s more of conditioning and some chemistry. Then chemistry thing picks up during regular season.0

I am starting to see negativity towards Simmons here, for god's sake, it is only training camp, dude has got a jumper and he will show it soon. Do you seriously believe he will be passive again?

Do you seriously believe there's not good reason to be skeptical about his jumper? I'm optimistic, but we'll see.

I mean we’re 100% gonna be the ECF at the minimum. It would be the shock of all shocks if we’re not.
It’s just a matter of if we are ready to be a legit championship winning team or not.

Sounds like the media is asking about Ben's jumper and whether it showed up at camp either lol.
