LAC is way to stacked to not win this poll
I do like Jazz as a dark horse though

I think the OKC ownership has shared rights to the Sonics history with the city of Seattle. So I think the franchise technically has won a championship. Similar to how teams like the Lakers count their championships when the franchise was in another city. But yeah as far as cities go, OKC hasn't won one.

I understand the logic and my answer shouldn’t have been so short but others don’t think the same about the Lakers because the ownership and the name of the team stayed the same when they moved. The ownership had been the same for all their championships (IIRC). I like to think those are Minneapolis’ championships just as much as they are “Lakers” championship but I’m sure it will be debated.

Difference with Seattle’s and OKC is that the ownership changed and the name changed when they moved. They essentially bought the rights to the championship. No remaining heritage from one city to the next aside from obligated players (whom none of won that championship).

How is their window short?

Kawhi 28 (just turned 28 too)
PG 29
Beverley 30
Lou 32
Shamet 22
Harrell 25
Zubac 22
Green 29
Robinson 22
Harkless 26

That's their core group going forward most likely for the next few years. That's an average age of 24.3 years old in their core guys. A legit 4-5 year window IF Kawhi+PG re-sign and don't have catastrophic injuries. It's a similar window to the Warriors IMO, albeit much less dominance overall as a team (just longevity, not sheer dominance or how good).

those 2 are only signed for 2 years. You can't say "if" they resign and then extend their window.

The same way I don't see AD leaving the Lakers I just see zero reason Kawhi and PG leave, unless they flat out hate their teammates and the locker room detonates. Both guys did this BECAUSE they want to be in LA. Lakers fans are literally booing and taunting them in public. You think that's a good way to recruit em? Both already spurned the Lakers once and I'm not sure they leave to play with 38 year old Lebron and AD over the team the Clippers could maintain (with the core group being younger). So similar to people asking "Where would AD even go at this point?" I would say the same about the Clippers duo.

The poll says "Thunder". The Thunder have never won a championship, the Sonics did.

I would agree with you, I don't think they count. But at least the Lakers didn't do a complete rebrand when they moved. The Thunder wanted to completely leave their Sonics past behind and become a different entity.

Yea, it's not an exact apples to apples comparison I was more messing with him for the premise being "when and where was that championship celebrated?"

How are you gonna refer to the Raptors run as random? From training camp they said it was championship or bust. That's why they did load-management. That's why Nick Nurse used the regular season to play around with the line-ups. And that's why Kawhi referred to the season as practice. Just because you didn't take their ambition seriously doesn't mean they didn't. They passed every playoff tests and they executed every goal they had for the season. And they won the title because of it. There wasn't one thing random, you salty Raptor haters are out of control. It's funny how when LeBron use to destroy the Raptors, you haters rejoiced and clowned them calling them Lebronto. The Raptors humbly took the L, got back to it and won the championship the next year. You can't have it both ways, what goes around comes around. It about time that haters humbly take their L.

And it's funny how the Raptors run is "random" yet the clippers are trying to absorb some of the Raptors energy to get over the hump for their first title. All they're gonna try to do is emulate their play style, and do load management. And hope everyone is healthy enough for their run. And Kawhi is good enough to get them a title regardless. But I think Kawhi and the whole world will realize that.Doc rivers isn't Nick Nurse, Patrick Beverly isn't Kyle Lowry. Ivica Zubac isn't Marc Gasol and playoff Paul George isn't playoff Pascal Siakam.

I'd love to vote Denver and I believe we have a chance, but I'd be a fool to vote against the Clippers team - at this time, ask again next year.

It's random in the sense that they had like the 7th best title odds going into the season. Even Raptors fans didn't believe they would win it on this forum, I can revisit those posts if you want. I'm not saying random as an insult, but rather the results weren't EXPECTED around the league. It came out of nowhere how it unfolded and shocked the hell out of people. Also Raptors and Clippers are constructed very differently, will play differently and the team has said load management isn't going to be anywhere near as drastic this year. You're right Doc is better than Nick Nurse. Patrick Beverley is like our 5th or 6th best player, why are you comparing him to Lowry your 2nd best player last year (3rd in the playoffs to Siakam)?

The Raptors offense isn't close to the juggernaut that the Clippers offense will be. Clippers offense will likely be an all time great one this year, Raptors were obviously more known for their great, versatile defense (something the Clippers are unlikely to achieve).

My personal choice are the Denver Nuggets; just had their first playoff run with this young core and it went well for them. I could see them winning next year(though I wouldn't expect it), and they are poised to be very very good for quite some time.

My apologies to Suns and Hornets fans, but this poll only has a 10-man roster, and cuts had to be made.

Denver is the most overrated team this season. There is no way they will ever be a serious contender with this team.

Seems to me that is what people were saying last year.

I like the Nuggs anjd the Jazz for darkhorse champ in the next couple of years but both teams won't have that big of a window. Its kind of like, "take advantage of your swell drafting and development that comes along once every couple decades" and "hope you sniff the playoffs after all your developed stars head for the bright lights". Is what it is. Pulling for both teams but obviously Jazz over Nuggets. ;) Anything LA to me is just whatever though the Clips are for real.
