Gotta say, KP handled that one like a pro. Just keeping it real. Plus, RJ will look like a smacked ass if KP sends one of his shots into the 10th row. That's why you need to keep your damn mouth shut when you're a rookie. What RJ said is locker room bulletin board stuff. The Mavs will make sure there's a lot of talk about this before we play them just to put a lot of pressure on RJ. They'll be all over RJ. Bet on it. Especially, with Carlisle as coach. He's "Old School."

Pretty sure this game was already circled on the schedule for KP way before RJ said anything. If anything I bet KP is going to be pressing way more to get back at the Knicks in the Garden.

Maybe but I think chances are greater that he has at least a “good” game. KP will be very comfortable on The Garden court. The game will be moving very fast for RJ especially when in Dallas. The crowd will be on his ass from the beginning.

It will also be November KP which bums me out. I wish this game was January for the anemia to kick in and RJ will have adjusted to the pro game.

We’ll never really know what happened here and why he wanted out (or if he wanted out) but it’s hard to hate the guy by the way he speaks and carries himself. I know it’s not popular round these parts but I don’t hate the kid.

I guess aside from the rape and racism, he’d be a swell guy to have a beer with.

When exactly was he racist?

And when exactly did he rape anyone? As far as I know, that's still just an accusation.

I know we live in 2019 so everyone is guilty until proven innocent but labeling someone a racist and a rapist based on zero evidence is pretty ridiculous.

My feeling is if the team gets between 30-41 wins it's a lost season. If they can somehow break .500 with this young crew... I'll allow it.

As if other nba franchises don't have advanced numbers and other data that we can't even dream of having to tell them if someone is a chucker or not... that narrative is so tired and dumb. If you want proof that it's not an effective way to get a deal look at the guys who were labeled chuckers and selfish on the team last year and what kind of contracts they got this summer. Any agent worth their salt isn't going to tell someone in today's nba to volume score and shoot unless they warrant it because it doesn't get you paid anymore. Rant over.

I really don't think we know what happened with KP and this woman, do we? I know KP was never criminally charged with any sex-related crimes. I also understand that she shook him down for some money to make her go away. Does that mean that nothing happened? No. But I'm a little skeptical of outright "rape." I don't know that this young woman was of the most upstanding character. Didn't they meet at a bar on this particular occasion? Were they partying it up and then later that morning things go a little out of hand at one their apartments (I can see KP acting inappropriately with a woman, he's a little dweeby though not an excuse for rape), she said "stop," KP got frustrated, the parties got angry, feeling were hurt. And then the dollar sign began to flash. How'm I dong so far? Did she every report this to the police? Or go to the hospital for a rape kit test? Any physical evidence at all? :D

And then she does this:

As for having a beer with him? No thanks. I"m not hanging out with some 7'3" dude who can't defend himself in a bar and is a magnet for crazy chicks.

But the one thing I do know is that Janis was one pain in the ass.

She actually did file a police report, and they deemed her “believable”. I’ll steer clear of the victim blaming convo. Don’t have any information other than that, but I find it odd that this case isn’t getting near the attention the Derrick Rose case got.

We should probably move this to the KP thread.

Payton is going to be very good for the young players. He's a pass first TRUE PG and he can rebound and push the pace. I'd play him as much as possible with Randle, Mitch, RJ, Knox and Trier.

on the Knicks

The Knicks seem to think they have a 35-win team that might approach .500. Fine. It's the East. Someone bad is sneaking into the potato sack race for No. 8. The bigs they added are all useful despite some positional overlap that isn't super convenient for Mitchell Robinson (or those who want to see Kevin Knox play more power forward, which I could take or leave). Most of the big-big pairings are semi-workable.

The guard and wing play -- the engine of most functional offenses -- is just so uncertain. Julius Randle might be New York's best shot creator, which is not on its face a bad thing. I just see a 27-30-win team, and most projection systems agree.

for some reason I simply don't trust fiz to stick to that.

I see a lot of late game lineups of Payton/Ellington/Morris/Randle/Gibson

he will trust the vets..and now that fiz will be on the hot seat he will have a quicker hook with the youth which won't bode well for any of them to be allowed to play through struggles. At least thats the feeling I get before the season starts.
