Preseason games discussion thread 2019

Lets forget about Harden for a second. I worked overtime till 2am last night and decided to tune in to watch for 5 minutes before going to bed, I didn't see either Kawhi or PG. I knew they weren't playing, but I was still upset.

Just think about the fans in Hawaii who likely circled this game on their calendar months ago. Do they want Harden to play 30 minutes, do they want to see him score 37, or just take a quick walk on the court get 10pts and call it a day. Do they want to see Patrick Beverly full court harassing Harden in a PRESEASON game, or half ass on D? There you go. There you have your answer. Just listen to the cheering in the arena last night.

People are having too many opinions these days rather than just enjoying the game itself. If they don't suit up - damn that's disrespect to the fans. If they suit up - geez it's a preseason game / his team is up by 20 and he still playing the 4th quarter??? We are never happy.

So why didn't Kawhi play? Is he injured or something? What about PG? I assumed PG was hurt but not Kawhi.

Agreed. Was glad to see Harden out there and why not? Everybody else played if they were able. Everybody in the Kings\Pacers game played if they could and they all played hard. The Pacers came back from 21 points down to win in OT in a PRESEASON game. Where they could have easily just mailed it in being down that much in a preseason game. Hell, even Sabonis got a big gash on his head and had to leave the game and still came back and played like a beast in the rest of the game.

Yeah, thats what I figured. And I guess Kawhi is on load management already or something? :lol:

Yeah, thats what I figured. And I guess Kawhi is on load management already or something?

I get it from both sides. Why play Kawhi meaningless minutes. But as a fan who watches the game, ya I think its great to see the players play. It was cool seeing Harden out there, it was cool seeing the Pacers and Kings treating the rotations like it was a regular season game.

Dedmon & Joseph were huge singings IMO.

Getting 48 solid minutes at a position is a huge advantage.

Back in July I remember most of the people here said, what are the Kings doing and trying to prove by signing those guys to those deals.

I don’t remember that for these guys but I also wasn’t looking for it. Barnes I was def a part of tearing that apart. I still don’t like it.

Note how the Clippers even copied the Lakers' old Hawaii/Univ of Hawaii preseason thing. Even in the preseason they copy Laker stuff.

Clipps been doing the Hawaii thing for the past five years or so. When was the last time the Lakers been out there?

Yeah the bench isn't going to be good, but it will be fine even with Domas starting. Once Vic is back Lamb will shift there and just not having CoJo/Tyreke is addition by subtraction.

Ya there was for sure a ton of backlash with those two signings. I think the Kings knocked it out of the park this offseason either than the Barnes deal. I think Dedmon and Joseph were ideal signings for them and Ariza on a 1 year deal is great for a wing off the bench which they didnt have last year.

Could REALLY use progress from Aaron Holiday, but he looked like booty in summer league making the same mistakes he did during the season. Does it bode well that he only played 10 minutes in the preseason game as well? I don't even know who Jakarr Sampson is but he played 22 minutes off the bench. :lol:

I just figured for a 2nd year PG, preseason is the time to get a lot of minutes in, and 10 wasn't very impressive for me. Makes me wonder where he stands there. Guess we will see if anything changes tomorrow.

Sabonis looked fantastic in the first Kings/Pacer India game. Worried about Bagley needing more bulk.

I assume Sampson only played because Goga and Leaf couldn't.

Barnes is fine. He’s one of the team’s core, and looked ever bit the solid wing coming into his prime today. You don’t let guys of that caliber walk in Sacramento, because there is no better in FA coming

The Holmes signing was great, I think the world relatively of him
