I thought Markelle still looked a bit hesitant, and he was out of control. But he did run the offense very well.

Anybody have video of his other fg he had? Not the turnaround jumper and not the dunk. I never saw it.

As far as our starters go, I thought AG looked the best. He really struggled at times to score around the basket and in the post area last year. Him putting so much emphasis on that this summer already showed imo. He finished very well around the basket and in transition tonight and should be in for a huge (possible All-star?) year.

Isaac was suffocating defensively. It seemed like he got his hand on every pass and was shutting guys down 1v1. I didn't see too much from him on the offensive end. I thought he struggled shooting it, but still found a way to make some nice plays around the basket. Need to see more offensively, but I still have hope we will.

DJ and Evan played fine. Hoping to see Evan's shooting percentages tick back up this season. Tonight suggested they might.

We will write this off as being a rusty first preseason game for Vuc..But I felt like I was watching him in the Toronto series again. Rushing shots, not asserting himself, and overall just not resembling the player we saw in the reg season. Have to see more.

I was very encouraged by the bench. On paper, this should be a vastly improved unit this year. I know Bamba took a lot of flack last season, but when you consider the fact that most of his minutes came next to Grant (who just got cut by china) and Simmons (who is currently unsigned) I think it's part of the reason he struggled like he did. Now we add a winning vet like Aminu and a playmaking guard like Fultz and I think this could be an excellent unit this year.

The stat line may not show it, but I was very happy with what I saw from Fultz. I didn't see any hesitance from him. There was definite rust (turnovers, getting caught in the air, etc), and he wasn't fully comfortable out there yet, but he showed the kind of floor general he can be during that huge 3rd quarter run. I have confidence some of these shots will eventually start to fall. Until then, its just encouraging to see him attack the basket and take the shots the defense gives him. His performance didn't exceed my expectations, but it definitely met them.

I thought it was interesting that we ran 1 or 2 isolation plays for Isaac top of the key. Perhaps a sign of things to come.

Fultz had a decent showing, really like what I see from him. But I am worried about his TOS, really.

Just look at his jumper.

Regardless, he will be wonderful for our offense.

That shot was a rushed one at the end of the clock, not the best example and a **** video tbh.

Kind of the equivalent of showing any airball/terrible shot from any of our starters the last few years .. without the excuse of TOS

I'm low cuts all the way, especially in basketball.

High cuts always felt heavier and more restrictive.

You know philly fans are going to highlight every thing Fultz does, spin it, and put it on YouTube without context. Then claim that they don't care.

true. But the video seems to show he still has tos and just found a way to go around that the tos issue by changing his shot. To me, thats worriesome, especially if we are putting too much weight on his shoulder as a game changer for this team.

I've heard a lot of fans saying Bamba has to earn his spot in the lineup this year. After the first game does it look like he should be the starter based on performance?

I don't get why you ask these questions lol. I love Bamba but it's a preseason game. Let him build a solid rapport on the team with good minutes and eventually, if he continues to play like he did today, he will replace Vuc in a few years.

My toughts after a game ( and after skipping 4th quater  )
- It's typical preseason game ,with heavy legs and lot of stupid errors, nothing suprising, teams are working on conditioning witch involves lot of running
- Magic played all players they will be playing in regular season and regular rotation
- Spurs were experimenting from start, that's why game was no -competition and 36 points blowout
- Nothing seems to change from last year in terms of offensive scheme.
- Gordon looked good, had really favorable matchup against 6'5 guard ( Walker) and took adventage of it
- Ross is still human torch and will still be integral part of Magic offense and player that team needs to finish games
- Aminu is type of player i always respected, he'll never be your star, but he brings stability and accountability
- Bamba looked like trash in first 5 min but got himself going after it ,again, nothing unexpected, it will take time to see how much he actually improved
- Iwundu made 2 threes, that's something
- Frazier.... .... ....
- MCW looked great, now i have seen him enough ( entering 7th year) to know he won't look like this 99% of a time, but he is good third string PG to have

As for Fultz... i'm hesitant to make any point strong points because it's just 1 game and there will be posters here that will copy past it somwhere and try to rub it in my face 2 years later no matter what i type () but it's not hard to type on youtube his highlights from college and see that complete change in mechanic of his jumpshot that took place over 3 years.
Did he somehow develop a yips , like it was first reported, did he always have tics and twitches but nobody filmed him or cared about it past to notice it, or he has TOS , well i'm no doctor so i have no clue, but something happend and it's probably there to say with him.

Nothing makes you starter more than scoring against player who averaged 1,8 ppg, on 32% FG in previous year , during preseason

Bamba looked like our best or 2nd best player last preseason too. We know how this turned out. But still happy he looked good,
