if you can't see the clear and blatant travel, there's nothing i can do to help your bballIQ and understanding of the game.
which is fine. knowing the game isn't for everyone. some just enjoy being entertained. but quite clear a travel. unless they changed the rule to allow 4 steps, in which case, i am wrong about basketball
then again, you and i are watching different videos. i'm watching that tweeted video of frank hitting the step back jumper. you must be watching him spot up and shoot.
all good
That should be a gather plus two steps according to the new rules.
Correct. I am wrong in this.
According to the NBA, this is not a travel. So yes, it is a legal move.
But according to the rules we've agreed to follow, in youth, high school, international, and college basketball, this is easily a travel. So yes, a basic, simple, basketball 101 travel here.
But the NBA is okay with this move, despite it being an obvious travel. So I am wrong. It's a travel, obviously, but it's allowed in the NBA (but nowhere else) today.
But you know what? that sh*t is starting to trickle down, my son plays AAU ball and he does that crap and they’ve started to let him get away with it...
The other parents all get pissed off and complain, I’m just sitting there chuckling, I don’t like it either tbh, cause I’m just as old school... but this might be the new normal

Really nothing notable in the way of Knox being fairly great.

i'm an elementary teacher, and moved down to VA - one of my duties is to monitor students during recess.
the amount of traveling that's done by these kids, especially with these moves that are obvious travels, is ridiculous. but, like you said, i think this is just the new normal. i've tried to show them and explain to them how it's a travel, but it's not worth the fight anymore
i'm with you, i'm old school and go by the rules the way they were written, and that they follow in international, HS, college, and youth leagues. but that's why i didn't include AAU, where it's not as serious to follow the rules either.
they should just change it to make what harden does (and what frank did) legal and accepted everywhere. it'll take me a while to adjust to allowing more than 2 steps, especially since frank took 2 steps, then did a jump shot after that (4 obvious steps, which is, according to the rules, a travel).
RIP, magnumt '19

Well look, when you have the greatest players in the world being allowed to run with the ball on the biggest stage in the sport, these are the players that kids will emulate, it only makes sense to make the rules of the NBA be the rules on the other levels of play as well. People are just going to say hey, the MVP of the league does this, why can't I? Why does some jr. high referee think he knows better than the referees in the NBA who don't call this? So yeah, I could see this eventually just being the way things are on all levels. I respect the rulebook and the purity of the game too but unfortunately money rules everything and because the for profit leagues want an exciting product that can play fast and loose with the rules that's where this is taking us

Wait, what? I think this person doesn't know what they are talking about. It's one, or the other. There has to be a baseline standard. Otherwise, there isn't any transparency. Other than they list "with shoes" or "no shoes" each time. Which seems kind of silly.
