Teams Must Certify Player Heights: Bulls Roster

Do we think these are "certified" heights?

Is White really 6-5?, WCJ 6-10?, Lauri 7-0? or is site not up-to-date?

I think when those starting lineup/roster pages are distributed for the first preseason game tonight, we can confirm it. Those should have the official official heights.

White was measured at 6' 4.75" at the draft. Wingspan below average though.
WCJ was measured at 6' 10.0" at the draft.

My sources confirm that Lauri's Actual Effective Basketball Height (giraffe neck adjusted) is 6'8''.

Nope not even close. Seen Lauri close up and in person multiple time. Dude is a Alegit 7 foot. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s 7’1 actually. Not that it matters. But lauri is tall has hell.

6' 4.75" Coby White standing next to 6' 3" Adam Silver. Hair height, Coby has 1"-2" on Adam. Body height, he's probably 1/2" shorter. I would guess that his wingspan is about normal for his true (body...) height.

Coby was measured at 6'3.5 w/out shoes at the combine (6'4.75 w/ shoes) - but I thought the new certified measurements were without shoes - so the number should be 6'3 or 6'4, depending on how they round.

I stood next to him a few times when he shopped at Best Buy when I worked there over 10 years ago. I knew he was no 6’3” back then. He was barely taller than me.

TBH makes his wingspan and standing reach even more impressive.

Are these with or without shoes?

Edit: It's without shoes, which is dumb since no one is playing barefoot.

So add an inch to all of those measurements and they don't look that different in most cases.

Whoever wrote that doesn't realize players used to be listed in shoes and now they are being listed barefoot. It isn't odd for there to be a difference from previous listings when shoes add roughly 1.5 inches. Height can also vary a small amount depending on the time of day.

Rose measured 6' 1.5" barefoot as a rookie so currently being listed at 6' 1" isn't a huge difference.

Yeah, it's really not that shocking. And the difference is now basically with shoes and without which is usually about an inch or an inch and a half at most.

Yeah he was announced at 7' 1" tonight for the preseason game.

I bet Ben Gordon would list at 4'11.

Yeah i noticed this too.
In football if you had a barefoot height and a cleat height, which would you use?
If a qb is 6'2 but 6'5 in cleats i would be getting ready to face a 6'5 quarterback.
Or a 5'9 rusher vs a 6'0 rusher.
1 seems stouter than the other.

Now that there is a new system in place it will make the old way seem obsolete.
Sure it makes sense to strategize vs an exact height, but this is player you will never see.
Derrick wont ever be 6'1 on a basketball court but now in retrospect it does change the perspective of what he is capable of.
