who thought we'd be 4-0 before the season started?

As strange as this is going to sound: me. The Ben-less Steelers & the Browns weren't gonna come into SF and beat them at home, and the 2 road games were very easy.

Easily the biggest test comes next week. If the Niners go in and take a win from the Rams in LA, it's time to get excited. But on a short week, that's a tall order.

I'm guessing 4-1 and then the Niners' practice squad gets activated & beats the Redskins all by themselves (just the 4 of them or however many they have now).

D was nasty tonight, but the offense needs to improve. Garoppolo was shaky. The run game was balling (at least in the first three quarters), but I'm not satisfied. That said, I figured this game would be a close one, and we dominated. Next week should be interesting.

Both OL and DL kicked ass. Bosa was the best player on the field. Breida/Coleman looked a lethal one-two punch. Early talk is that Jus escaped serious injury, I guess word is that they would've let him play if it was more meaningful, closer game. At first, I thought it was head because there was helmet-to-helmet contact on the play.

Man, the Browns are schizo. They can look like a legit top 5 NFL team at certain points in certain games, then look absolutely dreadful. So I guess that means they beat Seattle next week? I wouldn't think so but you never know with this team week-to-week.

I think it's entirely possible that the Browns just aren't very good. They beat the Jets, which is meaningless, and then lit up the Ravens, but the Ravens just barely squeaked out a win against the Steelers and I think it's fair to question how good they are. They dominated the Dolphins and Cards, as they should have, they almost pulled off an unlikely comeback against the Chiefs, but they havent' really beaten anyone. They may be riding on reputation at this point.

They should have stockpiled a lot of high picks over the years too.

Ward was out for this game. They must have other talent somewhere because other than Garrett, I wasn't seeing it.

Of course Chubb was a fairly high pick, Mayfield top pick, OBJ a high-level player when his head is on right. Njoku is injured.

Baker had some moments last year, which is why they were optimistic coming into this year. They got off to a slow start and then Rex Ryan talked about him being a one-read QB and that kind of went viral, almost flipped the perception of him, at least in the media.

I'm sure opposing coaches see similar shortcomings. He's got a good accurate arm but if he's going to have to learn to throw over tall linemen from the pocket.

The whole Baker handshake thing aside, I thought it was pretty disrespectful that Freddie Kitchens decided not to double team or chip Bosa more frequently. Let this be a lesson to him and the rest of the league.

This is exactly why earlier this evening i said that he’s the most underrated player on our team.

KYLE JUSZCZYK
RB, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL.

For now, it appears the 49ers are holding off on sending Juszczyk to injured reserve, which would mean he couldn't return until Week 14. It's sort of an oxymoron in 2019, but Juszczyk is the league's most important fullback. Despite the 49ers already having their bye week, he has played 52 more snaps than any other lead blocker. His loss is a blow to the Niners' creative, effective running game.
