Honestly looks like the typical RJ game. Inconsistent jumper, but even if the jumper isn't working, the dude puts his head down and finds a way to put up production. Some games he gets it going and the numbers looks good, some games he never gets it going and its really painful to watch, but luckily most of the time its the first option. The dude plays with a ton of passion and fire, for him there really is only two questions. Will that jumper ever become consistent and will he ever put in the effort defensively consistently.

Agreed but his defense so far since the summer has been really really good.

Thats good to hear, but that was the same story with Duke. The exhibition games in Canada and the UK game, dude looked like a stud defensively. That all kind of fell apart though. He's got the tools for it, hopefully he finally becomes a consistent defender.

I know that's a comparison that people have been making for ages now, but I thought it was for the wrong reasons, just because they're big (fat) and they're short for their position. The athleticism and body control though, this guy is going to dominate the paint at 6'7. I was not 100% sold on Zion being a post up scorer, and it's funny that I'm more convinced than ever in a game where he didn't post up (maybe I missed it but I don't recall) and against Atlanta no less (no offense Hawks fans), but seeing him rise up so effortlessly against several NBA sized bodies, spinning away and swerving through guys much bigger than him, you can't help but see the parallel between them now.

Barkley was insanely good rebounder, Zion hasn't shown anything special YET besides being able to find an open space and dunk. I would wait with Barkley comparisons.

But from what i saw, DeAndre Hunter could make a lot of noise as well. He looks like someone who could perfectly compliment Young&Collison duo.

It's not like the disparity is so large to completely invalidate the comparison, just as long as he's not Bargnani levels bad.

20 games into the season, most of you will change your opinions on these rookies.

I will be laughing my ass off if MPJ wins the ROTY XD

As a basketball fan I would love to see MPJ stay healthy and win the award but can you blame the OP or others for not thinking about MPJ? Obviously this is a well known fact but he did only play three games in college due to a back injury and missed the entire season last year because he needed a 2nd surgery on his back.

Then wouldn't it be wiser if OP put the "ROTY vote" after the pre-season?

Just my 2 cents

No, why? By the same token, let's wait until the end of the regular season. Or better yet, until the voting results are confirmed and we can all pick the actual winner. In reality, though, people like to click on poll options and guess what happens. Not sure why pre-season would be a more meaningful cut-off anyway (why not after the draft? why not after Summer League? why not after 10, 20, 40 or 82 games?), but people talk about it right now so a corresponding poll makes sense. Don't worry, there'll be plenty more over the course of the season. If Porter does well, he will be included in those. So I'm really not sure why it bothers you.

well. zion is doing his thing @pels.
i don't think it will be enough. he would have to be franchise changing for the pels to shift from holiday/ball/ingram/redick/hart to him

otoh morant will be directing the memphis offense

It is the preseason but I think this is another solid class. I am not sure Hunter or Reddish, with their shooting range and great positional size, could have picked a better situation in the lottery than to end up playing with Trae, Huerter, and Collins.

Marco lucky he slipped.

Pop over on the sidelines sounding like Adrien telling Rocky to "stay down".

Calipari recruiting buckets and keeping um low at UK. Tyler looking like he's cut from that same Booker cloth. They're gonna love him in South Beach and that name itself will sale.

Was somewhat concerned with the level of freedom they'll allow him to play with but it looks like Spo gon Spo and let the talent play.

Herro looks like the real deal ! Think I'm probably going to be eating crow on him to be honest, thought he would be solid but nothing special , looked great in Summer league as well.

Herro's only 19. I hope he isn't done growing. Maybe his wingspan will catch up to his height.
