@Aussies of the forum, how on hell did Cam Bairstow managed to get drafted into the NBA? I've watched him in 2 Eurocup games so far, and he has looked beyond awful, like "I can't do anything positive on the floor against Limoges' backups" bad.

We really need a non-NBA basketball thread

How do you win 6th man when your a starter?

Surely Baynes will beat him out for the starting spot.

He had a phenomenal senior season (if you go back and check his progress year to year at college it's really pretty remarkable), I think it was just taking a flyer on a potential bench big.

He should be a solid big in Europe if he sticks around long enough, but he's struggled coming back from a pretty bad knee injury- he missed about a year of basketball then last year returned and was very slowly working into things. His consistency/confidence seemed pretty shot.

The crowd went ****ing nuts. It was almost disrespectful to Ben but I'm sure he's hyped. It was an end of quarter "why not" type of shot. 100% different than in game, not as time is expiring, against NBA talent in my opinion but it at least showed he can hit it.

I'm not sure the NBA talent would matter too greatly- I'm guessing he would have been even more open if it was an NBA game. ;)

to be fair he was solid in the 2nd game after I posted this

I asked because -in minimal sample size- he looks small, he can't move or jump, he shows no particular aptitude to good defensive positioning, and he isn't a particularly good at shooting, playing in the post or passing.

In the wake of the whole China thing, Chris Tucker should pull out of rush hour 4

Rumor floating around that this China thing might affect the cap number in 2020-21
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Tony Snell didn’t play in the Playoffs for us, basically at all, and now he’s starting in Detroit. I know it’s preseason but it shows you where their wing depth is.

Casey might be the Snell whisperer.

That baseline drive 360 dunk thing that Zion did tonight was crazy. It was light work for him, though.

I'm seeing absolutely no one predicting fewer than 50. We went 18 years without winning 50 games until last season, and now it's automatically assumed we'll do so again.

To me it seems automatic that they'll win 50+, but a part of me wonders if we're taking it for granted and forgetting how hard it was to get over that hump. Giannis had a great 17-18 season, but they only won 44 (albeit Kidd/Prunty were coaching). Idk, just a thought.

Ok nvm. If healthy, they're winning 50

Fultz looks pretty good until he has to take a shot. But he’s quick and looks pretty good at getting to the rack. He’s no star but could be a useful nba player still.

Skiles is the favorite for Olympiacos HC job; I don't know if I have to laugh hysterically or cry

Skiles would be a great pickup for Olympiacos. His years coaching legends like Luke Ridnour and Beno Udrih have prepared him for coaching an immense talent like Vassilis Spanoulis.

The China stuff was brought up here and very quickly took a bad turn. So talk about it in Current Affairs or the General board. PP already posted that. Thanks!
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
