This series going 5 is great. Rays have elite pitching. They are not to be toyed with.

I know what your trying to do and I’ll give an A for effort but I’m not falling for your trap. Your trying to jinx the Yankees .
Now that the series is over I’ll talk about the ALCS most likely against Astros.
No, I'm not. Seriously. I just like baseball. Yeah, I hate the Yankees but I still like talking strategy. Anyhow, I was right.
Just to show you that it wasn't about reverse psych, you guys are fcked against Astros.

You should just focus on wishing for a decent baseball team

Hicks might come back for the ALCS. Defense would be very much improved if a healthy Hicks takes CF and Gardner moves to LF. But if Stanton, who walked 4 times in the ALDS and worked almost every count, is moved to DH, what happens to Encarnacion who was great in Games 1 and 2 of the ALDS? Does Encarnacion takeover DH and Stanton is benched? Tough decisions ahead.

Yeah, but given the choice of who would be easier to face, picking the Rays is a no brainer.

Very interesting, you can't take Encarnacion out of the DH role. No matter what you would have Hicks take over in CF in later innings, or if you have Maybin or Wade on roster still one of them would PR for Encarnacion and Hicks would be the one to take over in the outfield. You could have 3 quality PR candidates so you could have 2 lets say PR for the slow guys in Encarnacion and Sanchez, and still able to use Hicks in the field. I say Voit is the one thats replaced he just hasn't looked right no confidence at the plate and his D sucks. Its also entirely possible the Yankees wouldnt want Stanton to play the field 3 days in a row on the road, or Sanchez catching 3 days in a row (Yankees would do it with Posada). I remember Jose Molina caught some playoff games for us in 09.

Hicks should not be inserted back in to the ALCS roster. Historically it takes him a lot of time to get his swing back and the first several weeks are usually him looking like crap swinging late on everything (picture Verlander and Cole's fastballs).
Then factor in that he's a career 6-41 against the most likely Astro's pitchers he'll be facing (top 3 starters: Verlander, Gole, Miley and their setup/closer: Harris and Osuna) with only one of those 6 hits more than a single and no runs driven in...and even if he was healthy he'd be a candidate to not be on the roster.
Yeah I checked. Here's Hicks slash line against the Astro's best pitchers:
6-41, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 2B, 0.146 BA, 0.171 SLG, 0.337 OPS.
And that's with him not having ever faced likely Cy Young winner Gerrit Cole LOL while "feasting" to the tune of 3-10 (with that 1 extra base hit) against Miley (yeah, he's even worse than the above slash line against the rest of them). I would not add him to the ALCS roster, no way.
They'd probably be better off adding an extra pitcher like CC if he's able to pitch (sounds like he is) instead of Wade and keep Maybin as the late game "defensive" replacement for Stanton.

Hicks can take Maybin's place. Cant be just tryna run up and play. Parrot has been solid.

Nah, that's skill. Unless you mean how the Pirates wanted to rape us for Cole but gave him to the Astros for shat. But the Astros do that stuff all the time. Hopefully the Yankees FO swallows their pride and just pays for Cole this offseason.
